Detonation sensor dosn't need to be connected. Check that the EFI relay has power to it and check it switches when you turn the ignition on.

did you link the loom connector down near the alternator? there is a plug there you have to join up

have checked all connectors on the harness and r all good there is no clicking out of the fuel pump relay or the efi relay even tried new relay's and still nothing happened checked all fuses they all good as this car was running and driving only 4 weeks ago until they done conversion so was thinking it mite be some part on the motor causing the problem, it is probably something really simple but just cant find out what is causing it Doc

Hey mate if there are no lights on the computer at all then it won't be a problem with the motor, it may even be an earthing fault. Check that you have correctly connected all earth's to the chassi and the major one to the block. Get a multimeter and check the power pins on the ECU plug (no idea which ones, just check all of them) to see if your even getting power there.

Have you checked the fuses in the fuse box? If the ECU has power, both leds will illuminate when the ignition is on. If the ECU has no power, the pumps won't prime and nothing else will happen either, with regards to ignition and injection.

Yep you's were right took the loom off the turbo motor and put the original loom the the standard donk and bingo we had everything back again timed it all and away she went only to find out No.5 injector rat **** replaced it then 2 days later had water in oil, suspected blown head gasket but no crack in head just below No.3 cam shaft journal. Not our lucky day, have got spare head will use it,when we took head off it had the head gasket and a metal spacer gasket as well why do they have the meatl spacer plate for is that to lower the compression ratio on the motor Doc

sounds like a decompression plate. its probably not a genuine turbo motor. try put the donor cars VIN number into the VIN calculator, or at least does the engine number end with "A8" ? id arsehole it either way, they dont really stop pinging anywhere near as well as proper low comp pistons, good tuning should be able to sort that out tho..

A8 is that denote a turbo motor does it , i think it was just a rb30 motor according the worshop manual it has raised piston tops where the turbo pistons are flat is that correct probably why they put the decompression plate in there to lower compression ratio Doc

Yeah theyre used to lower comp ratio mate.

if you wanna run big boost and big power, then you'll have to upgrade the injectors and management any way so you could have enough tuning scope to live with 9.0:1 c/r, and if your not after huge power then winding the timing back a little and richening the mixtures should stop pinging enough to run "some" boost .... either way decomp plates are ghey

u should get a turbo computer, as the na computer can't handle the boost properly, it not calibrated for boost

Phantom The computer we are using is a turbo computer i just think is was just a standard RB30 motor and had all the accessories fitted to it. Just have to give this new head a once over then re-assemble the motor on weekend and try again.
