Hey all, A little help please... i have done a search and think i have found out what the problem is but i still need some help. Oh yea, i have a n/a vl with the jatco 4 speed box - anyways, the auto seems to skip 3rd gear and goes straight into fourth (overdrive). And no it doesnt matter if the button on the shifter is pushed in or not. => I have found that this is , more often than not related to the speed sensor behind the dash... I tore into the dash in the weekend and turns out all the solder behind the dash was fine - however some of the main wires were connected together for some reason - like someone had cut them and then rejoined them - anyways i joined them soldered them and then finished it off with heatshrink. The result => i now have 3rd gear again! YAY! The connections they had used were all corroded and some rusty - so i guess the signal was weak from the speed sensor etc... Anyways, Problem solved! Jay
