Hey guys, just need a little help with installing a catch can. This is one the same as mine: Anyway, I've done a search and got a bit confused by it all. I was just wondering, should I hook it up like this? What about the other breather hose at the back of the rocker cover that runs back the the turbo intake? Should I just leave it as it is?? Any help greatly appreciated. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i think leave it as is, im going to set it up same way as antho did, if you want to run that one behind the intake to the can aswell, i suggest to buy a Y peice and join them before the catch can

if i join them with a Y piece, what do I do about the hole in the turbo inlet pipe?

i run mine from the 2 breathers in the rocker cover and the other holes are all closed up

i was under the impression if you've got both breather hoses going to the can, then you do need a filter on it..

Yea, both the lines off the rocker cover to a 'y' piece then to the can, the other fitting on the can to a filter.Block off all other holes as previously stated. You have it wrong in the photo Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

It's fine to just have it on the PCV valve breather line. I have mine setup in the same way as the picture above it it works just fine. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

thanks platinum. found a pic of yours while i was searching too. so, if i join the 2 breather hoses with a Y piece and run that hose to one fitting on the can, then the other fitting to the PCV valve in the plenum, all will be well?? anymore pics? OBT100, you say that way is wrong? do you have a pic of your set up???

dude nothing joins back onto the pcv on the plenum (DO NOT RUN YOUR CAR LIKE THE WAY YOU HAVE IT) as u have it now from the looks of it you are pressurising the crank case this can cause u to blow all your engine seals out from the looks of your catch can do as said with the y piece join them into one fitting and the other fitting is where u attatch and length of hose and fit a filter on the end of it. make sense?

The PCV valve joins up with the breather on the rocker cover, you are absoultly wrong that nothing joins back to it, all these setups to is put a catch can in between, no flow of gas or anything is changed..

on of those lines is for the pcv which only works with vacuum and the other is suppose to go before the turbo if u join the to sure u get oil flow from ur breathers 2 your can but where does the built up pressure go, it will only vent when the plenum is under vacuum either that or im confused on how its setup this setup below has no pcv connected it gets blow by via the two hoses on the rocker cover and then drains back into the sump via the lower hose and a filter on the top to prevent pressure built up

The image of the setup you posted is connected to both, has a breather and drains back to the sump, so it's completely different.

exactly. the set up with the can between the PCV and the rocker cover is perfectly legal, as the crankcase gases are still going into the intake, not to atmosphere
