this is my ride
it was a 1988 Alpine white Executive, which was a 3 speed Auto
then one of the previous owners decided that it needed a better gearbox, so he threw in a 4 speed, and gave it a fresh 2pak respray in Jet Black, and added a dark blue series 2 Calais interior, as well as some custom side skirts an 85 litre VN fuel tank, and VN bonnet scoop.
as well as this the car has a 2 and 1/4 exhaust through to the single muffler and coming out of a 3inch tip from there (sounds pretty nice) and a huge 15inch forced cold air induction pipe connected to the pod filter (which makes it sound like a turbo, hehe )
the series 2 calais interior has got all the works, but alot of them don't work
the power windows are really slow, it doesnt have central locking, the power mirrors make weird noises and the power antenna insn't powered, but all of these things will be fixed in time
the sound system is just a JVC MP3 head hunit controlling a 400 watt amp running the 6x9's on the back shelf. but is soon to consist of 2 12" subs, a 1000 watt monoblock amp and some neons in the boot, with a custom box to fit, as well as this the car has 3 rocket switches inside to control the boot neons, the neon in the glove box and two neons in each console compartment
as well as all this the front of the car sits on pedders superlows, professionally fitted and while they were they got the pro to "professionally" cut the back springs so the sit really really low!!! it only rides on 15" pursuits but they will be cutom chromies once i have finished electroplating them
future plans for the car is a turbo of course as it is just a stocko N/A RB30 at the moment, the big sound system that i mentioned, central locking and faster power windows as well as maybe an aero front and rear and some sports seats
and lastly because she is black and very unique the name that i thought would fit her best was "Black Betty"

stay with the chasers till you can afford something a little bit bigger . Otherwise you might regret wasting $550

16-08-05, 23:08 GMT+10#10 No problem. I guess its the same with everything, ive talked to a lot of guys that are going to buy vlct's soon, and theyve got vl's at the moment, but there spending money on mags, cd systems etc, whats the point? Save that money for you new car, or in this case, some real nice 18's . Save up a bit more and ya could get some VYSS's or something. You wont need much more

Very true... big stereos are all well and good but nothing beats the symphony created by a turbo engine on boost

01-01-06, 11:15 GMT+10#17 bump...how's the car been going mate? I say if you cant afford 18s or 19s then stick with chasers, as they look better than "nearly rims" like 16s...

02-01-06, 14:30 GMT+10#18 yeah man shes going great, i tinted the tail lights, there completely black now! i have resprayed all the calais moulds on the back in gloss black cos they were faded, as well as the ones on the front up the sides of the windscreen, i purchased brand new aftermarket headlights for her and got xenon blue globes, AND i put my number plate back in the middle, cos i got sick of being a gay turbo rice boy wannabe hehe! makes you all proud doesn't it!!

02-01-06, 14:57 GMT+10#19 i like where your going, to many ppl would overlook things like replacing faded head lights and trims etc so they could buy some fully sick rims or stereo instead. There is time for all that, i think get everything else straight and proper first! Looks like you are pretty much there!
Can you show me how your calais boot mould came up after you painted it and tell me what you did as i am also looking at doing this..
