hi,
i am wanting to buy some mags for my car, but cant decide on what size i should get..
i think 17's would be better suited for the roads i drive on, and i think 18's might look a tad too big for the car, but not sure..
can anyone please post any pics of vl's with 17s or 18s??
thanks guys
regards tim

I would go with the 18s man.
Heres a pic of mine with 18 inch VY SSs and it has not rubbed at all since they have been on.

if ur after a better ride then 17's would be the go. if ur after big size, try and get the spokes of ur rim to go right out to the edge, makes em look bigger.
here's my 18's

17's look good on VL's because of their smaller arches, put 17's on something like a VT/VX and they look tiny! If you can streach the budget 18's are good, the ride isn't that much different to 17's (but if you're upgrading from something like the factory 14/15's, you'll notice!). Here's mine with 18's

thanks guys for your replies so far... i still cant decide if i should get 17's or 18's..what the price difference in tyres?? and have u ever had any trouble with insurance, cops etc...
from what i can gather i can run 17's..and maybe 18's aslong as the overall tyre diamter isnt changed more than 15mm, so 18's with 40 profile tyres should be close maybe

22-07-05, 14:55 GMT+10#11 with thin to medium 5 spoke wheels you might want to go 18s then with flat style wheels like internationals 17s look fine, with alot of the 5 spoke you need big gaps between the spokes for it to look good

the ground isnt level, so the back wheels dont look as low as they are. 17"s are good, depends what you like, theres not too much difference. I dont particularly like big wheels on old cars though.... my reason for choosing 17"s (plus i got all 4 wheels and tyres for $200, lol )

22-07-05, 23:55 GMT+10#19 Hey man It depends on weather you want your ride to handle or look good... Ive got 18's on mine with king spring lows and munroe gas shocks and its a little bumpy but damm I can hook into turns like its on glue! Go for 17's if you dont want it too bumpy but 18's look sweet under a VL!!!!
Here is mine with HSV VT GTS 18's
