ok i've been thinking with a mate and these are the problems and choices i need opions
i have a n/a vl calais converted with a turbo motor etc t4/t3 blah blah
my car used to be on gas and i want to put it back on gas
now the only way to not get epa'd is to have your gas system complianced, for a n/a vl thats easy there are kits, but for vlt there is not a complianced kit ot suit
but since my car is reg as n/a what stops me from reg'ing as vl n/a on gas and then slapping turbo gear on
what would happen if i was pulled up, is it still technically legit cause i only bolted a turbo on.
thanks chris

All you need to do is if you have changed you block you need to let Vic Roads know about the change, and they must sight the engine numbers to make the change. Turbo they dont care, but if you put gas on it they need to know and you need to put LPG stickers on it. The lpg stickers come with a bit of metal that you must pop rivet on your plate and then put the sticker on it! In case if there is a fire and the fire dudes cant see the sticker (cause it has burnt off) theywill see the metal pop riveted on the number plate so they know there is a LPG tank in the car....kaboom!
i think people are missing the point
to have your car gas epa aprroved vlt u need compliance u cant get it for vlt's
i have a registered vl n/a and can compliance it on gas, then slap on turbo and who is to say like cops etc that it isn't vlt complianced?
thanks for the comments to guys

It doesn't work that way champ. Compliance is based on passing a number of checks on your gas system/installation. For eg if you buy a kit and install the gas lines under the wheel arches thats not going to pass. Or if the installer uses lock off valves that are to small also not going to pass. Should cost you about $110 for the plate, but thats the least of your worries as a proper straight gas conversion is over $3000. Hope you have one allready. Also inlet and exhaust manifolds for lpg are over $1000 each. Electronic ignition is around $1500 to $2500 installed depending on what you get. You do know there are vl turbos that are complianced. Anyway plate or no plate no one is safe from the epa unless your engineered.
thats very true, and your right bout the compliance stuff, but its piss easy to get a vl n/a complianced i still got all the old stuff to slap back on i still got the old compliance plate to now what happens if i compliance it as an n/a and then bolt turbo and ****.
can it be considered as no complianced or will the plate riveted to my strut tower say otherwise. it says nothing bout what type of car it is complianced to
thanks
nah nah i'd have it professionally installed im trying to get around the bull**** of compliance for a vlturbo
and by compliencing a n/a and slapping on a turbo i would accomplish that would i not?
Are you making 700hp. Ill have a guess and say no. Therefore it will be a piece of cake to compliance even if its turbo. I don't know what your so worried about with turbo and complianceing. Remember there are 10 second vls that are complianced for gas out there. I have the contacts that can do it for you but please don't waste his time as he is extremly busy. Let me know if you need to get in touch with him.
Mines complianced. It should be part of the conversion to have the compliance done by the bloke who does the conversion for you...
It doesnt make sence otherwise. Why would you pay 3 k plus to have the job done and then have to do extra to have it complied...
