They have a weird pattern engraved in them, which needs a special nut to unlock. Just makes it that little bit harder to steal. Definetely worth it.

Did you buy the car from a dodgy fella? He could have kept a key for it

Lock nuts are virtually useless. You obviously need to have the tool with you incase you get a flat...Are you gonna carry it with you every time you leave the car??? Only real use is to slow down someone floggin your rims on the side of the road... ie. not much.

lock nuts are crap house mate most sets only have about 5 to 7 keys in the set and most can be open by using a chisel or other tools. mate best thing to do lock ur car in a garage and do everything you can to act as a deturrant to theives i mean everything. maybe that 30sec's u spend flick all ur kill switches on to start ur car will be really worth it someday. at least you got your VL back not liek some people who have nothing at all now i guess in a way ur lucky but still you should still ahev ur rims no matter wat.

I live neerby on the beaches. Same thing happened to my work mate a week earlier. Where abouts was you car found and how did they break into it? Sounds like similar theft!

I agree with everyone thats sayin locknuts r useless because u do basically hav 2 carry them with u wherever u go, when my best mates vk got stolen he hid it real well but they stripped everything and found it. also guys if u can change the locks on ur vl, stock ones r very dodgy and can be easily broken into...
