Yeah that sounds like a fair call to me.
You can get yourself one second hand for 30 dollars and polish it yourself for 20 max in materials. Some places would even polish it for you by machine for 40-50 bucks.
So that figure works fine for me.

i dunno i recon 100 possibly a little more cos it costs more than 100 to get it chromed and if it is polished you really have to keep it clean etc and the chrome will be fine for ages.

u reckon, i hate chrome, looks cheap and plastic, and its prone to corrosion. Polished alloy is a better look

or you can spend $40 and take a whole heap of bits to an electroplater and get lots of shiny things.
actually really like the shadow look on the rocker cover, doesn't look like bling, looks nice, clean and tough.

Chromed alloy is the goods. A Polished finish is too high maintenance. And unlike on steel, the porosity doesn't really matter, because alloy doesn't rust.
Love that shadow chrome finish, but it looks more like powerdercoating in that photo

This is one that i polished for Erin for Xmas, took me forever. but looks sweet.
I have recently done one for my car which also was a pin in the bottom but looks good. I like th epolished look caus it matches the shine on the cooler pipes. personally i think chrome is a bit bright but thats my opinion
