You cant do it as its peened into the casing, the only way to replace it is change the whole case.

i was about to post the same thread lol
mines gone aswell...
according to my thinkings, the spring must be compressed and the circlip removed (as shown in photo) and this SHOULD let the bearing come out.. if not, its just a step closer to geting the housing off lol

yeah this is a strange 1 some people say you can replace them some say you cant. you can get the bearing new from holden I checked a while ago when mine was broken into and the ignition broken.
but from what I was told by a number of people at the time the bearing is cast into the honey pot and cant be replaced i just got 1 from the wreckers and was lucky i didn't have any play at all.

I'm led to believe it's a prick of a job which is probably why most people say it can't be done, but like I said my old car had the bearing replaced...I was there when he did it but have no idea how. I do remember there was a lot of swearing and yelling at it though lol

20-12-07, 12:57 GMT+10#19 i replaced my bearing 2 years ago, haven't had a problem with it. Holden sells the bearing for about $10 and the whole barrel for about $130. Holden told me the bearing can definately be replaced. It took my a good couple of hours to do it. Once the new bearing is in place, just give it a light knock with a small flate blade thingy to lock the bearing in place.
