i heard the S13 box is very strong i dunno if this is true but would this be good as in weight compared to a R33 box like the MX7 Box is heavier then a R33 box but im guessing a S13 Box would be alot heavier then box and if its strong would it be good to use like i seen over 200rwkw put through 1 and im sure theres people with more RW power then 200kw in there silvias just a thought thats all. i was also told that the S15 box pops 2nd if dumped at high rpm is this true???

dont think the s13 box would fit. i have a r33 in mine was a straight fit only had to make up a braket to fit the vl slave cylinder. handles 252rwkw and launching on slicks fine

hey im thinking of getting a r33 gearbox for my VL turbo. I have a MX7 in at the minute and was told to put the r33 in - the yoke is different, the box is shorter, the gearstick comes out at a diff spot and mounting is diff to the MX7. Can anyone that has a HR33 GTS turbo box (r33) in their VL tell me what mods they needed to make it fit in and what price they paid.

A little info for ppl still deciding what gearbox they want.. Aside from the R33 GT-R Gearbox, the R33 gts-t RWD gearbox is the strongest and most reliable gearbox that ever came out in a nissan production car.. Even out-doing the Supra 5-speed.. So, if you can fit an R33 gts-t manual in your car.. then go for it, because your not going to find a better one.. Almost just as strong and reliable is infact the S13 silvia manual gearbox and even the diff, but your going to have alot more trouble fitting them into a VL. S15 200sx owners and modifiers still replace there new gear with the S13 gearbox and diff because they were that good..

yer i was told the S13 box is stronger.

what about a 300zx gearbox i heard there pretty strong and hard 2 find.

i know in the auto vl turbo gearbox's ther is a cuple of clips that go in2 the wiring n ****, is ther any on the manual box's? any1 know wat im talkin about? if so do the manual r33 1's clip or go in2 the standard 1's in the vl turbo?

The R32 box internally is the same as the S14 Silvia gearbox......trust me

does anyone know if its possible to swap the RB25 box's rear housing onto the GTR box? By looking at it it seems that the GTR box's output shaft would be way too long, but not sure internally how the transfer case connects to the box. Going to pull one apart shortly and check it out, just wondering if anyone knows?

Obvious prob with s13 box is it doesn't bolt up like a r33 box. 300zx box is the same as r33 but different bell housing. Foxxyred, if there are all those differences u don't have the right box. R33 gts and the vlt boxes are almost identical. Mine cost me $1400 a few years back.

DOnt listen to these people. GO a Five speed from a R33 Skyline. They are a strong as f uck, And DO Bolt STight up. Just have to change a few lil things. Minor details. I GOt one. mmmmmmm gooor. But i also have a Rb25 soo there ya go.

i was talking 2 a fellow the other day who owns a VL calais NA in the middle of a coversion and he said he is putting a XR6T i think he said T56 behind his RB30DETT he was saying that box is alot stronger then any Nissan box and supra box. he also said the (correct me if im wrong) GETRAG Supra box kills any nissan box aswell even GTR but i dunno how u can compare rwd with 4wd boxes. was also saying the R32 GTS4 box si the same as the R32 GTR is this true.

nothing beats a ferrari f50 6 speed quad synchros in every gear including reverse lol Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

s13 box is soft..basicalyl a rb20 box with differnet ratios. 300zx box is just as strong as a r33 box..but has difffent bell housing and the shifter is external and is further back. neo box is the tuffest of all nissan bar the GTR....pull type clutch tho... pull type twin plates seem to be alot cheaper than the push type. master and slave are different on the neo aswell. neo fits rb30 peace out knee grow

It involved removal of the drive to the transfer case then chopping the hump off the casing and welding it up. He did say that it was only really worth it if you could do it all yourself tho, because if you paid for the labour, you might as well just use a RB25 box and save a lot of stuffing around.
