Just wondering how much fuel the 308's use...and how much more would they use than the turbo 6?? Are the 8's as bad on fuel as everyone says?

What L/100km do you guys with carby V8's get? In the injected 5L I get about 18L/100km city driving... And by city driving I mean peak hour, stop start traffic.

I use my car as a daily driver and I would be lucky to get 400kms out of a tank of fuel (gen3), I know its not a 308 but I thought it might give your an idea of how much v8's drink the fuel, And it has to be run on premium!

When my VL was running the carb 5L fuel economy was anywhere within 20-24L per 100kms... now EFI its within 15-17L per 100kms (all city driving with quite a bit of booting). Country runs really pull that figure down.

statesman averages about 15k/100, has a 80litre tank so if u fill it it lasts for ages! on freeway it goes down to about 9.. i went to great ocean road and back with full tank and still had over a quarter

Im still running in my motor and tonight i worked out i get about 20-25L/100km. Once the carby is tuned it should be abit less. I guess its not too bad considering the type of engine it is. But i got these figures from driving at a maximum of only 50km/h and not giving it a bootfull Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I consider myself lucky to get 300km out of 60L (rarely happens). And my driving is mostly country roads. However the trimatic affects your high speed cruising economy and I also do a lot of short trips, and find that this is bad as the car chews through gas a fair bit faster when cold. Oh, thats 98 octane fuel too. I was lucky to get 250km/tank when i used to run normal premium.

Well actually hoping for 530-540hp If i give the car a bit of a hard time, i can easily go through a tank in one night . So by cruising at 50k/hr or less, it stops me from going broke Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
