I have this problem the first and only first start for the day, my car will not start you crank and crank and crank it wont start it only start if you give it some gas while cranking and then you have to hold the rev's for like, 10 sec or else it will eventually slowly stall, I have new oil, fuel filter, plugs, leads, cap, i havent done rota button, AFM working perfectly, I get no oil in my catch can, b4 I changed the oil there was no white sludge under cap, no sluge in radiator perfect green coolant, and the water level in the overflow bottle doesnt move everyday its in the same spot, so it aint cheweing water, I thrash the sh*t out of it it goes perfect and will never go ova 3 bars temp, it just the the first start for the day it wont start unless you give it some gas, but also through out the day, if ya wanna start it, it will start without giving it gas, but it takes a bit of cranking. But I have notice this problem slowy slowy happening gradualy each week i would notice it would be hard to get her started firt time for the day, eventlly it got to this point, and im thinking soon it wont start at all. Is this a fuel or spark problem, im thinking fuel, cos it wont start unless tou give it some gas. I have standard ecu, injectors, fuel reg and pump.

Definitely sounds like a fuel problem mate. Is it hard to start in the afternoon, say after work or whatever? My guess is that your injectors are dribbling fuel into the inlet manifold overnight and causing an overly rich mixture on initial startup. This would also mean there wouldn't be much/any fuel pressure in the system when you try and start it. Maybe try priming up the system a few times before cranking first thing tomorrow. Do this by turning on your ignition, waiting about 3-4 secs (or til you hear the fuel pump cut out) then turning ignition off and waiting about ten seconds. Turn ignition on again and repeat. Do this about 3 or 4 times then crank and see if it fires straight up. If so, you need the injectors serviced or replaced. Keep us posted...

Pull every injector out and have a look.. sounds like you have a totally rooted or leaking injector(s) Also it may b a combination of a few things such as spark plugs, battery, injectors.. If i were you toake your car off the roadfor one day and pull yoru injectors out yourself then go ge em ultra-sonically cleaned and flow tested at a workshop.. Why i say this is that i have very simlar probs to you except no where near as bad.. SUCH AS.. In the morning it nearly stalls an idles on 200rpm.. the cars jerks heaps.. real slugish and uses a decent amount of fuel making it reasonably uneconomical.. so seriously id do that.. my injectors havent been cleaned for over 300,000kms anyway Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

most people don't believe me but ultrasonic cleaning seems to ruin VL injectors and after 6 months they dribble fuel while the car is turned off causing bad startup as its flooded. the reason this happens i that the pintle seat wears and the ultrasonic cleaning unsettles something causing it not to seal. not the best explanation i know but unfortunately thats what seems to happen.
