Hey last night coming back from getting my g/f there was **** loads of traffic between Maitland and Newcastle.....go stop all the way pretty much.... anyway going along and got some speed up....about 20-30k's I think....then had to stop again.....looked in the rear view mirror and old mate with a semi didnt look to be going to stop..... he got on his breaks but a bit to late, I felt the nice shunt and pulled over.....we exchanged details and the front of his truck didnt even have a scratch..... my vl, while still drivable, looks bent.....dunno if it can be fixed...I'll get some photos up a bit later on and see what you guys recon.... oh and would anyone know the name of the nearest cross street on the highway between Newcastle and Maitland?.....I'm still getting to know the place......it was near the turn off to go to Sydney.... Cheers Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Even if your chassis is bent they can straighten it, however if costs of repairing it overshadow the market value of the car....

my old man VK was stripped down all pannels were missing, and we had a third party opinion on the cost to repair and they said better to write it off, but my old man insurance company said no and replaced everything in it. cost them a fortune i think but really you never can tell. but with older cars they tend to write them off when they look at what sort of cindition it was in before hand.

I had similar damage to mine when I bought it. The previous owner reversed into a steam roller of all things. $880 it cost me to have it looking like brand new again.

yeah...well i hope so...the photo's dont really shoe it...but inside the boot its all bent inwards right up against the tyre....but if it can be fixed than that would be good....i guess only the back will need painting so i'll need some extra cash to do the rest or it will look a bit stupid

yeah...the paint isnt that great so if they have to paint the boot and side pannel tan it will look silly....so i would rather put in the rest of the cash to do the lot

Yeah you should,.. You will find that they will want to fix that damage,.. just all depends on ho your chassis is.

havent checked them....didnt think of it....but where the rear quater pannel joins the boot pannel near the rear window, the join has come further apart....I think it has bent half the boot sideways.....I really think it wont be to easy to fix...or cheap anyway/.....

Could wreck the one you have now, sell bits and pieces to people... Might get you the cash that way? It's a doubt, but it could just make it, seen a few for sale around here (probably more expensive there though) for about $2,000.00 - $3,000.00
