hey guys, im after a lil bit of help, im definatley going to turbo my N/a VL, so heres the deal, i have found that mine is Series II, so oil feed, oil return, water feed and water return are all bunged, so thats easy.... after a week of research i have located where the knock sensor goes, above the middle welsh plug that sits above the oil filter... so this evening i found an interesting looking harness, it has 2 pins, and is taped up to the main harness, it is located in the same position as this knock sensor would appear on a turbo, so all im asking, with the help of the following picture..... could this be the plug for it ?? cheers dale Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

No, the knock sensor harness is a single wire with a white, round cup that seals over the end of the sensor. N/a's don't have the wire but it's only 1 wire so easy to put in. What colors are the wires on that plug, i'll tell u what it is. But then if u're going turbo, fit an aftermarket ecu and be done with it.

its 2 wires, and they appear to be greenish blue

that sounds like to me the connection for a oil pressure gauge. plug as the one in the sl/exec are single cable. i assume that the berlina/calais pressure gauge uses 2 cables, which look suprissingly like the cables i used to hook up my oil pressure gauge.

iVe done 3 n/a to turbo conversions at work. havent used a knock sensor on any of them. all cars still running strong. 1 running a to4 with plenum and tricked up n/a ecu on 10 psi its been going for a year. Off the subject a bit, my own car was running a to4e with plenum stock turbo injectors, ecu, and bottom end, with stock na pumps and a malpassi fuel reg. It made 224 on 11.8 psi. it lasted 8 months till i put the boost up to 14 psi. with out a knock sensor. not trying to start a arguement, just an opinion.

does the car feel doughy down low, and needs a good push of ur right foot to get going. Mine did before i put in the knock sensor, although it could have been the restrictive exhaust.

also what if your engine does get a knock, the ecu won't retard the timing, bye to the engine
