06-06-05, 05:36 GMT+10#10 yeah sure....lol....there not to hard to do....if you havent scatched them then under the paint it should be almost perfect, I started with 240 and worked my way to 2000...then some autosole to give it the nice shinny finish....

Or you could just post up a Technical Article. I painted mine not long ago but now I'm seriously considering stripping it and polishing it.

06-06-05, 14:56 GMT+10#14 I'll post the process here...its not that hard...
Get some paint stripper (I used the spray on stuff from supercheap) and spray it on and remove all the paint.
Then start with either 180 grit or 240 grit depending on how good your surface is to start with. I use wet and dry.
move through all the different grits until your reach 2000....make sure that the only scratches you can see are the ones you are leaving with the grit your on before you move to the next grit.
Once youre happy with the surface and it has a good reflection, using Autosole (also from supercheap) give it a polish. The best method I have found for this is to put it on in a small amount first and rub it in really well...then buff off.....now do it again but with more polish and rub it well and buff again.
If someone knows of a good clear coating that can withstand high temps I would love to know about it....that would give it some more protection.

thx...my mate took care of that....he cleaned it up really well with a wire brush on my drill then put a coat of silver paint over it....and he also ported it using a dremel.....looks really good....I think he was bored cource he did it while I was doing my rocker cover...didnt even have to ask him....lol

06-06-05, 15:24 GMT+10#17 haha, oh its paint? I'll be curious to see it in a few months time
But ya can't say no to a mate doing it for nothing.
I think I should get motivated and do mine one day.
Those wire brushes on the end of drills, Magic is all I can say.

06-06-05, 15:46 GMT+10#18 yeah its paint....tried to sand that but after a few days of getting no where i decided to just clean it up real good and paint it (my mate took the liberty of doing that for me)....to get it polished it might need to go to a shop.....those dents in it are very deep....it would take a very long time to get out fully by hand...
