im pretty sure theres nothing special about them, apart from the fact that the have the extra 15kw over the stock vn ss, and theyr a limited edition... and they only came out in alpine white
yeah they were featured in an old edition of Street Commodors
different rims (think Walky colour coded)
Different front grille
Nothing to special i don't think. Still better then a normal SS i suppose
they came out in atlas grey too so im guessing they came out in all 3 of the vn ss colours
the only difference is the 180kw motor, diff grill, perhaps diff rims and slightly diff interior...im pretty sure htey got the same patterned cloth but diff back seat with headrests like the vl calais's
Only available colour for the HSV VN 8 Plus is Alpine White. Car was built as a 'marketing exercise/motor show special' at a time when the VN SS was only available in Atlas Grey and Phoenix Red. They wanted to see how the sales would go on a White SS and as such later released the VN SS in Alpine White.
There was one of these cars for sale on Ebay last week in QLD and last month i saw one for sale in car yard in Melbourne.

In the car yard i didn't actually pay attention to the price as i was much more interested in the car sitting next to it but the exact same car was for sale back in January when i was in the area at another dealer ship for $11000.
I would expect the price now to still be similar.

corsa: they definately came out in atlas grey coz one followed me in freo and when i parked we had a chat it had all the correct badging stickers and the different interior (i.e back seat headrests).also remember seeing one for sale in the paper a while back.
perhaps once they released the white vn ss they decided to keep making the HSV 8 plus?
Might be possible if it was a special order but as HSV was known for their inflexability or varying models it is very unlikely unless the customer was extremely well connected. A respray by a previous owner is a possibility as well.
Keep in mind that this model was released to Melbourne dealers only as a contract build by GMHA and was displayed at the Melbourne Motor Show.
Maybe in WA there was a similar undocumented car available in Atlas Grey for the local dealers.
