G'day hows it goin,
just thought i would chuck some picys of my calais to give everyone a look,
but i did end up taking the pics when the weather was a bit crap and the scenery was a bit dodge, but as many of you have probably read my crankshaft is rooted so i need a rebuild but i am unable to drive it far so i couldnt take it any were for the photos incase i throw a rod which i dont need, hahah.
anyways have a look and tell us what ya think??
it only has stockys on there at the mo, but i will eventually get some 18's or 19's for her and most likely remove the kit and just got back to the original front and rear bar...
cheers
Ryan

thanx for the comments guys, its great to hear other ppl saying it a sweet car.
yer i need rims pritty badly hay, the stockys look a bit dodge and makes the car look a bit scruffy i think...
the only problem is wich rims, i have seen heaps that i like and when i come to getting them it will be hard, hahah
i was thinking either
VY GTS
VY SS
or advantek Blades, see picture, all 18's
or these pryder rims, second pic, even though choosing rims is hard coz they make your car.....
Cheers

thanks to everyone for there comments on my VL, i will try and get some more pics up of the interior soon, it is the red colour and in mint condition.
the car:........the interior is stock red colour in perfect condition, and its an americas cup edition build 8 if that means anything, the paint is sweet, complete respray about a year ago, got a group A front bar custom moulded to suit, front mount, rear bar, engine: highflow t3 cam work detailed engine bay 3 inch mandrel bent, lowered, runing 11psi comfortable up to 16. auto with a 3000 high stall.
erm rolling on stockies with brand new tread, tinted windows and all the other fruit, all electrics and sh it work.
Anyways i was wondering since a few ppl have had a look at my car and read
up on it, i only bought it about 2 months ago for 12grand, and after having it a measily 2 weeks, the crankshaft has gone on it, and since speaking to the seller and wanting to beat the piss out of him he has had nothing to do with it, and i have had a couple of quotes on getting it fixed and the best one came back at 1500 to 2grand which is a new crankshaft and piston rings which mayswell do since the engine is apart, but i rekon could get away with 1500buks for the fix, then it would be sweet, and that was from a group who have been rebuilding motors for 20 odd years.
so since i have found out the qoute i am gonna go ahead with it and maybe go further with forgies etc etc, blah blah,
but the main reason for this little spiel, what does everyone think i could get for it/the most i could get for it if i sold it now as is, since i bought it for 12k 2 months ago, and it needs a 2k fix, whats everyones opinion??????
coz i love the car, and the feeling when driving it and ya hit boost is awsome, and when the roads are slightly wet, and boost kiks in it soo cool feel like you on ice car just purs along sliding everywere, and it is an awsome car to drive...but i am having mixed feelings at the mo, wether to keep it or move on and cut my losses, because you could imagine how pissed i was when it happened, and seeing it sitting at home in the driveway i just want it to be on the road again boostin.
Cheers

25-05-05, 12:43 GMT+10#18 i think if you kit up a calais you gotta make it single tone or else the kit looks a bit much. Also standard rims dont do that car justice.
Fark that looks tough but with that cooler filling up the front kit, cant wait to get a new (silver this time) cooler on mine!
What size front mount is that?

25-05-05, 12:50 GMT+10#19 dude - i'll b blunt...you got a bit rolled for buying it for $12k, and WHT THA PHUK IS : " and its an americas cup edition build 8 " ? 12K for a hiflow, coola, zorst and a stally? pfft, i would never pay more than $6-7 for a vl, because i know u never make money, only loose with vls, and because i bought it cheaper i could mod it with the money i saved... imagine $6k of engine mods hah! in ur case once you repair the engine, id ask for $10k and sit untill you get it. quickest, cleanest price to sell it without nobody saying to much i dont think...depending on the condition of the car...and the k's.. other than that nice car
