Garrett TA45 turbo modifyied for race applications has 360 degree thrust bearings, compressor housings a/r is .70 and the exaust housings a/r is 1.05. . the previous car it was fitted to has ran a string of 9sec quarters (13b turbo rx3) @145mph would this be a good turbo for a vl? what hp ratting would it be?

sorry your wrong psi-wagon, Ta45 use a 72mm turbonetics compressor wheel Gt42's can be ordered with a 68mm(94 overall) and a 76mm (102 overall)with a smaller exhaust housing than a ta. All ta's use a truck exhaust housing and rear wheel, just use a turbonetics front. They would be good if you could modify them for a t04 exhaust housing, that's why the rotors usually use a to4/66, the powerband is wider, and the 13B has more exhaust gas to spool a turbo than a rb30. cheers darren

ben it would be ok on a street car , but you would need 2 external gates to control the excess gas man

On 17psi a 3540 would flog it on the street, the TA would have a better peak power, but the area under the curve would be concave as, the 3540 would be convex. You would need at leat 20+ pound to get this thing working in it's sweet spot.My mates Supra went from Gt3540 to Gt42(68). It made 350rwkw on 23psi with the 3540, then 360rwkw on 16psi with the Gt42. The 42 hardly wheelspins, the 3540 had no traction at all, and with slicks still turned the tyres at 200+.All depends what you want, remembering the Ta is a 9 second turbo. cheers darren

hey mate. its a huge turbo - but not worth it unless your going to use it to its potential as others have said - ie: 20psi plus if you want a nice streeter - get a t04e - r
