you bought a ridgy didge HG and you want to ruin it with "mods for a 6 cyl", the 186 isn't going to exactly move the car along too quickly no matter how many tidbits you throw at it..don't destroy the poor car by slapping on shiny pink rocker covers and a pod filter running from a piece of aggy pipe thats duct taped to your carby! and i'd be throwing that motor out anyway, i wouldn't trust a motor that had the same oil filter for 91,000 miles Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

There are a few mods you can do to a 186, For example you can stroke that motor out to 234 Cubic inch with the help of a 6 cylinder ford crank, Maybe 3 2inch SU's and a rebuilt gearbox to handle the extra power. You can buy stroker kits for the 186. I saw the same setup in a GTR XU1 that out ran an GT falcon at willowbank, but I cant remember the time it did unfortunately. Its just a suggestion

What I meant is that the 186 can produce some decent power figures if built with the right parts

dont bother modding the 186, the most you could get out of $5000 worth of modding would be like 2hp, lol.

no need to spend $5000 to gain 2 hp just pull out the radiator and lie the old briges n straton mower down there and weld the shaft to the crank instant 5 hp + air cooling

Probably the best thing you could do to it would be take out the 186 and find a VK efi 202.
