Why is it that the RB30e doesnt seem to be able to obtain a lot of power without a turbo.....the most I have seen is around 150fwkw....I ask this because the 4.0L inline 6 out of E series Falcons with cam, extractors and an exhaust can put around 180fwkw......I am just curious to know why they dont respond to n/a mods very well.....

vl= 3L falcon=4L thats the difference for starters. and they are newer motors with more ways to tweak. 150 fwkw is a good start i recon, i have not reached the limit of power output in my vl, i still have the factory throttle body, valves, valve springs and compression, and a factory standard spec cat (not high flow)

the falcon motor's are as old as the RB30e.....but yeah....a cam and zorst isn't gunna cost you much and you get a decent amount of power gain from it....I just am curious to the actual reason for the rb30 not gaining much power....

They'd be the same as any N/A motor-Cam, Carby(Injection in this case) and Compression... Big dollars I would think for fairly small gains when you consider you have the option of bolting on instant pwr with a turbo. As was said previously with the comparison between the ford 4ltr and Rb30e, its all in the cubes, they make good torque being a big capacity six. Im sure you could get your RB30e grunting hard with a tough rebuild. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Theres a few around with 200+ rwhp or more. We just haven't seen much about them. Redcliffe Dyno built one or 2. Costs lots.

Costs lots. it worth paying money to go on they dyno. i think "JOEL' off this forum, put a xf t/b onto his standard vl, he thought it went alright so he took it to RD for a dyno run. he couldn't beleive how much power it had.......either could anybody else.......only mod xf t/b...180rwhp....just image if he had done a cam and chip 300rwhp!!

you have to look at your ecu, two lights red and green, they are your fuel (red) green (air) mix, now i cant remember how the tune up went but both have to blink on off at the same time.
