link doesn't work. Anyone had any experience with the active twin thrott hats Vs. C.O.M.E. Racing manifold ? Was wondering if it was worth the extra bucks for my new 355.

Was wondering if it was worth the extra bucks for my new 355. dont bother with the active twin thrott hat, its **** so to speak and lacks air flow in the rear cylinders, the plenum is so small too, how could air possibile squeeze through that? ive heard that the come racing twin throtts are only good for high hp applications to, or anything over 550hp, apparently they are 'doughy' down low. although yours is auto so it really shouldnt matter with a stall... is your 355 going to be wild or mild NVIOUS? i'd be using a single plane harrop or active manifold with a 4barrell throttle body. alot cheaper than the come throtts (although might not flow as good...)

mild-wild, guess it depends on your definition. 355 with solid cam (bout 600 thou lift) ported heads, 4000 stall, usual goodies, etc hoping to crack the 11's, if not ill prob plumb a baby shot of nitrous to get there. Not wanting to go a 4 barrell as i want everything under the bonnet and no ugly scoops or air intakes, the car is also set up for show so it has to look tidy as well. Most likely end up going the come manifold, there's not too many people using them here in WA yet though so i just thought i'd ask

COME twin throtts for sure man... with that stall it'll jump straight into the power band and it's sideways sally all the way... good luck with it, hope to see it cruisin soon !

Dont really agree there im using the harrop single plain manifold with the active hat and 2 65 mm throttle body's, whilst the C.O.M.E, or original ttb would be the pick of the bunch the active system is good for forced induction. There are a few cars out there running big umber with this setup. The stock single throttle body is said to be good for 500hp. Depends on your cash flow if you have the money then get the vn grp a ttb then look at getting the come ones but if you on a budget build then get the active system. my 2c

Group A manifolds aren't quite as good as come twin throtts, and are more expensive and don't fit under the bonnet (i dont want any buldges/scoops), and personally don't like the look of them compared to come's. Decided to go for a come manifold, will have to run the standard one until money is sufficient, unless something better turns up by then, would like something different to the norm.

hey snowy the guy who owns the walky limos makes his own twin throtts and are based on the come racing ones. not sure if ya new about that or not.

best value combo is definately the active hat on a single plane manifold, then quad throttles.

but you have that active setup on your car and it runs **** power yes? Did you read my thread mate ??? Your right it does have the setup and as per my previous thread i stated its manily good for forced induction and as im not running forced induction leads to my power figure. And with the t700 starting to flair in 2nd gear (as thats the gear they dyno it) off course it will put out **** figures. And also as stated mate if your doing a budget build thats the setup i would go for. And if you had read my thread mate, i said that there not the best. Read before you comment mate Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i read your thread, but the way that it came across is that you were trying to sell the Active Manifold as a good thing. From what i've seen they're fairly average. if i was to put twin throttle bodies on my car i would want it to be putting out more power that that or wouldnt it just be a waste of time?

I am looking at replacing the standard mainfold and thought the active manifold looked good, hence why i started this thread. From what I have read, they obviously aint the best setup out there, but then again, I aint aiming to build a fire breathing monster thats a headache to drive. What about the Walker manifold, anyone had any good or bad experiences with it, or heard or what they are like? Maybe we should do a poll as to what everyone thinks is the best value for money intake manifold is for a motor at about 300kW List away guys, I wanna your opinions. Cheers Mick

Epitah your funny at the end of the day mate it all comes done to one persons view and in this case its not your or mine. What im saying is that active is a good setup and any of the mentioned setup will be great for forced insuction. Active setup is for the budgeted builds where as if you have the 2500.00 odd dollars then why wouldnt you get the come or original ttb? All of this "i herd its crap" is speculation your telling me that the vn that was fetured in street commodores a while back i think he made near on 550-600 rwhp is crap or the fact there is a yellow Twin Turbo ute running around with this setup. I'll try and get some pics up if someone can host? What setup do you use Epitah?
