hey, i know this has been covered i have searched and read it all but i just wanna clear some stuff up, im soon to be building my own VLT engine, i would like to know should i opt for Straight Gas setup?
i assume a straight gas setup will need engine modifictions, if im going to be rebuilding an engine from ground up best do it properly from the start i would like to know what these mods are or can i build it as if i was gonna run petrol? as for getting the straight gas setup drive in drive out i read in another thread it was $2500 with a single throttle body from GRA.
can anyone offer information on stuff like EPA? anything with emissions etc. i dont wanna set it up for gas spend teh extra $2500 and then find out i need to pay liek $4000 more just to get the car on the road.
thanks

best you ring the epa advice line they will tell you if you go gas you still need an ADR37 epa test $2000 odd test so ring them. thats all i got to say on this subject as for engine mods no ider

what's with the EPA test, I didn't know about that one - what a revenue raiser that is. Blind Freddy can see whether an engine is on straight LPG or not...
As for specific mods, you need hardened valve seats because the LPG doesn't contain the lubricants petrol does.
Def go the GRA gear - it works!!!!! Just ask VL Muzza and I've had it on a Chev but not with forced induction.
Do you know what compression you want, how much boost and the specs on the cam? There's an LPG place off Mountain Highway between Scorsby Road and Dorset Road, they have GRA gear in there.

to be honest i have no clue about the compression i want to run, id probably run the car on about 12-14psi for cruising and if i ever took it to the track id like to put it to 16-18psi. looking for sumwhere between 150rwkw-180rwkw

i think its something to do with the RB30 engine being injected and is newer then 1984? or something when some ADR was introduced which ment straight gas cars are only EPA free if they are carby.
im not 100% sure on that, but thats just what i've read.

You dont have to do any test.
Ive just converted my car to straight LPG and dont have to do any test. You transfer your car to GAS with a vicroads form. You dont have to do any EPA test. What would be the point. Gas has no emissions, so whats the epa going to test? How much s hit is in one of your farts. Thats about it.

if the car has any mods that are not standard turbo plenthum anythink like that then you do need an epa test ring the epa wellsy if your wagon is pritty much standard then you dont need the test but if any mods that arr not standard bigger turbo waste gate what ever you need the test ring them to be sure tell them exactly what your going to do they will set you down the right track

if you leave the car as close to normal as possible (standard turbo and plenthum no external waste gate t3 t4 no catch cans no blow off valves ect) then no epa is needed and the gas rule applies to pre86 for no test at all
