if i do decide to keep the car, and start saving up my pennies for a rebuild, what do you rekon the cheaper better alternitive would be between getting my RB30 rebuilt, or opting for te option of chuking a 5litre in there?? i think i need to see other mechanics and get a big range of quotes and diagnostics on what is wrong with it...then go frm there. cheers Ryan

Just go the rebuild man... I know how you feel, I took my car to get a tune and the guys goes. Uhh you got a burnt valve in cylinder 5, I wouldn't drive it if you don't want to **** up your engine. I'll probably give mine a rebuild and throw in some forged pistons etc... think how long your engine will last and how much better it will be compared to an engine still pushing on after 18 odd years...
