oh fu kin fu k!!!!
bought this calais not long ago take it to mechanics today and he tells me the crank angle sensor is rooted, oh and also one of ya pistons is fu ked.....
i have the worst luck in the world with cars i was gonna give up and not have a nice one just drive what ever around but i thought i would be ok buying a calais turbo coz strong motors and that and buy a higher price one and will be ok, then this happens.
wanna just go to sleep sometimes and wake up and everything is sorted.
haha... cant get anyworse.
the car:........the interior is stock red colour in perfect condition, and its an americas cup edition build 8 if that means anything, the paint is sweet, complete respray about a year ago, got a group A front bar custom moulded to suit
front mount, custom rear bar, engine: highflow t3 cam work detailed engine bay 3 inch mandrel bent, lowered, runing 11psi comfortable up to 16. auto with a 3000 high stall.
erm rolling on stockies with brand new tread, tinted windows and all the other fruit, all electrics and sh it work, and theres heaps of other stuff, but too pissed off to think at the mo!

i'm not that machanically switched on when it comes to this stuff, wouldnt really know were to start only know and can fix holden carby motors, 202's, 308's hahah.
there's a bad rattlng when the revs are held at 2000rpm which he said is one of the pistons and it has cut out a few times lately which he said was the crank angle sensor..

13-05-05, 23:54 GMT+10#14 oi man, serioulsy, find a mechanic to check it out, honestly, 3 of of my closest mates are mechanics and 1 is a carspark. one was telling me this before, ur lifters usually **** up quite a bit. and also check u mas (airflowsensor), they usually like to make a car run funny, like its not connected and make it run like a pig, like not using an air filter but worse.
check these things out, if not give me a pm and i might be eble to have one of my mates tell you wats wrong with it...and also get them to tell you what u need to fix it...or how?
oh yeh, but they wont fix it, sometimes its too risky. unless through a workshop.

JETWPN, how ya goin mate,
well, i went to a place on saturday just in the city to find out exactly what is wrong and get a quote, and he had a listen and told me it needs a new crankshaft and while the motor is out mayswell put in new some new rings, plus i need to get the crank angle sensor done coz its been cutting out.
so i endud up being quoted 1500 to 2grand, most likely will end up being 2grand with the sensor.
but i should think that will cover it all even though if i can afford it i will opt for some better pistons, forgies or somthing since the motor will be apart, but does anyone know how much pistons are?
but anyways yer thats what needs fixing and i was mega pissed of considering i have only had the car like 3 weeks hahaha but i have just chilled out now and realise once it is done it will be much better and at least i know its done then plus i can boost it more.....
so i dont really feel like bashing the dude who i bought of anymore, cant be bothered my car will still be sitting at home broke even if he has two black eyes.hahah
plus was told by the mechanic to park it up and leave it, it may throw a rod...
just thought i would let everyone know wats the go, and a thanx to everyone who was supportive last week when i first found out and wanted to sell the car kill the dude who sold it to me....hahah
cheers

JETWPN, cheers mate hay thats really cool, its a great help dude.
yer i wanna keep it coz they are awsome cars and i like the one ive got and i will have to strugle and scrimp and save as much as i can and get it done then i will know for my own sake that its been done properly.....
so i think i might consider my options and cash flow and yer i hopefully wanna go with a set of forgies, i'm sure it will benefit me in the future especially if i wanna run more boost etc.
maybe ifya dont mind mate i could get your number and when i have a bit of cash together give ya a buzz and you could have a chat to tim for us, coz i have rang those guys before ages ago to ask about a rebuild, that was 6 months ago when i first started looking at VL's and they were so helpful on the phone and were really geniune and i could tell they were looking out for what was best for me which is what ya want out of ppl when you looking at spending money....
Cheers again
