I can't really inform you about your mates mates car inparticular, however you mate is right and there were only 12 of these babies ever built. They've got a 223kw HDT built V8 in them, and probably one of the most extensive bodykit's around - 21 pieces. They also have IRS fitted as standard as well.
Seeing as you posted this in the "For Sale" section - does that mean his Director is for sale?

i don't think all of them had IRS..... have a look here for some more info

Maybe so. The article says IRS was featured as an "option".
But if you were spending the $80,000 or so back when they were released, I'd dare say you'd be ticking the IRS check-box as well.

22-04-05, 17:15 GMT+10#11 The red one (HDTIRS) has IRS, as does the original Ice green one. These are the only two with IRS apart from the original "World Test" Directors which actually wore LE bodykits.
Some Calais Sport's also received IRS, along with some Bathurst Aero's, but it was not standard and was an $11500 option at the time.
As someone said, it was sourced from the Opal Senator.

22-04-05, 17:31 GMT+10#12 if you were to import an opel senator from Europe, how hard would it be to adapt the IRS into a VL???
