Hi All Just wondering what the quickest time by a VL Turbo is on the Townsville dragway any pictures/details. I've been out of the game for a while. I ran a 12.92 @ 106mph in about October of 2001. At that time there were also a couple of others in the high 12's I believe. I would imagine there has been plenty quicker ? Cheers

Not too many quicker than a 12.92 however at the recent wild bunch meet I heard that an orange vlt ran a 12.2. Not exactly sure on mods, but that would be the quickest time i've seen out of a vlt in townsville since i've been going out ... Only been going rather frequently since 2003-2004 Also know that the blue vlt that was done by tms has run 12.8. I'm aiming for a 13 out of my torana which will hopefully be a pretty respectable street car. Dean

Ther is a Vl Director that did a cuple of low 12 sec pass's ther (v8 tho) only vl turbo i seen at the drags was 10 PSI and it did like a 14 or sumthing redicules. that was at the last Wild bunch im pretty sure.

Orange VL, hope its not the one around the corner from me. Last time I saw the one around the corner it was running 15's, but it does seem to have some of the gear e.g. big front mount, running some sort of aftermarket ecu etc etc. Everytime he comes past our house he always has to give it a big boot full, without fail.

Narh i know the one your thinking of turbo tim and im talking about a different one. Last time it went out it did only run 15's however its been running alot better since then, i heard it was the first time that it had actually been driven in almost two years so it was just blowing the cobwebs out. It is still pretty stock aswell, definatly running standard ecu! The 12 second orange one im talking about has a bigger turbo, front mount and aftermarket computer and ran at the last wild bunch meet about 3 weekends ago. Dean

Theres a couple in Carns but dont know if any run at all... Ill be down to run mine periodically throughout the year.

Used to be a Mackay car, apaprently the owner moved to townsville. I heard rumors that he has run an 11 at townsville. Car was alsways at the Test and Tunes in Mackay, and managed a high 12 at best. He was in Mackay over the Christmas break and was running 13's at the T&T then - car may of been de-tuned or whatnot for the trip to Mackay though... The car doesnt look like that anymore as he pulled the Walky kit off to loose quite afew Kilo's and drop his times... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

hehe theres 2 orange ones up here... That one that was in SC and another one without a kit.

IMHO Those mags are horrible and destroy a nice car. The guy has obviously spend some serious cash on the car, you would think you could spend a couple of thou more for some decent rims... would look better with chasers :P

LOL He has 19 inch INOX rims on it like the ones one the yellow vk out of the street commodores mag the five spokers. He told me he took the kit off to be a little bit less suttle towards the police since he moved up here. He ran a 12.2 in the middle of the afternoon on bald as street tyres at something like 115mph. With slicks and front runners he has run a best of 11.4. This would have to definitly be the quickest vl so far running at the Townsville drag strip. Altho Peter from Ayr ran his car before christmas and ran a 12.4 on streets at 115 mph as well. Not to mention a 2.3 60 foot to go with that time so maybe with some slicks and front runners I would say he should be looking to run into the mid 11s without too much trouble Anyways my Na standard turbo setup with a jdcustom plenum and a front mount running a wolf 3d and 10 psi have run 13.0 @105 mph to date sooo close but yet soooo far from that elusive 12.9 Next time ....
