hey guys
im new to calais turbo but read a lot of the posts and i thought this would be a suitable place for my thread, my apologies if it isn't
i fell in love with vl commodores when my dad took me for a strap in his NA berlina back in 1990 when i was 3 years old and now that i am 17 have finally purchased my own little baby, NA exec with the basic trimmings, 2 1/2 system, extractors, lowered, air filter, for a tidy price of 3000. i was trying to project the car and bolt on a fibre master calais front as well as dip her in a pot of fresh jet black paint until the night of the 25th of january.
i was droppin a few mates home after a bbq when i came to an intersection in morningside, it was 9 at night and raining so visibility was poor, i started to turn the corner on a green arrow when i noticed a VS commo hooning through at about 80k's. of course as i have found vl brakes are great *cough cough* and it was wet, so i slid straight in to him creating $3000 damage for myself and his car hitting the lights and being written off. DELETED COMMENTS HERE left me with a $3000 bill and a f!@#ed front end. aswell as the other driver claiming his damage on me and compo for his "INJURIES", now im in a mass debt trying to pay my parents back for all the money they spent on helping me get my baby back on the road.
i am extremley grateful to them as well as the fact that my car is still in my driveway. i am so sorry to hear about all u poor *******s who have actually lost your beloved vls.
anyway, thanks for listening to my little winge and good luck gettin your cars back, or even better, a bit of baseball bat treatment for the theifs.

sounds to me like the VS was in the wrong, were there any witnesses? did you explain to the cops what happened? did they bretho the other driver? take the VS driver to court!!!

easier sed than done fellas. ive been in the same boat as this kid.
petros, insurance is useless if you only have 3rd party fire and theft in this case. i had a fella REVERSE into me and then get out and claim i was sitting too close to him!!! anyway went to insurance company and they sed the best they can do is reccommend me to a lawyer. taking it to court isnt easy if you had no witnesses.

dont worry dude same **** happend to me. i left my car out the front of my mates place one night when we went the pub, anyway this blue vp wags came flying round his corner and smashed into my car and did a runner. nothing i could do. no one had his plates. saw it the other day, but its not like i could go to the cops. would of followed but i wasnt near my car.
in the end you just gotta say **** happens and usually stuff like that will never happen to ya again.

yea i hav 3rd party but its useless and wont get anything fixed for me, and my mum is fixing the situation for me, she is a genius and got it all sorted for me.
step 1) video tape the traffic lights at the intersection (the one heading towards the cop shop, burrai st) COMMENTS DELETED
step 2) write a letter to his insurance company asking for my money
step3) when we get rejected, do step 2 again
step4) when we get rejected again, take it to a guy called the "insurance ombudsman" or something like that, hes the bloke that looks over the case and tells them to get stuffed and give me my money, and they cant appeal that.
or step 5) if this fails take the tape and other witnesses to court and hope to win
COMMENTS DELETED
yes they breatho'd us and we were both clear, and the only witnesses were the 4 blokes in my car who no one believes cos there my mates, but we all signed statutory declarations.
hope that clears things up, cheers fellas

Ultimately it's all your word against his about the circumstances of the prang.
Very difficult for anyone else to be 100% certain of the actual events and who was at fault.
I've edited some parts of your thread: don't say those things on here please even if you feel that way.
Good luck with everything.
