Hey i'm having troubles running 3 amps and 2 12 inch subs at a certian volume. The circit breaker keeps cutting out and i have too pull over and reset it. So you reckon I need another battery or two batterys?

I think its time to upgrade you main power cable and up the CB or fuse, but what i have found it the CB's never trip at there current rating, so replace the CB with a fuse of the same rating ang see how that goes!

yeah i had that and the fuse's kept blowing, so i thought i'd go with the CB to save me some money, The power cable is decent quailty. Also i had the 60amp fuse and blowed like 4 of them! The lights also dim when the volume is right up

yeah...i think it might have a block thing that the three go into and then join into one with fuse's, not too sure as i had it fitted

hm..i recken try 3 seperate power cables, less stress on the one cable/one fuse? you could always be dodgy and put a nail in the fuse holder not reccomended though Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

just buy some '0' guage cable, fuses to suit and distro block to suit and u'll b perfectly fine. Upgrade ALL your earths under the bonnet while your at it to '0' guage as well and make sure its all onto bare metal (the earths, not the power). ush

had it Pro installed and told me to goto a auto elect and they recommened me to buy a 120a Alternator where the one i have now is 70-80a because the CB is cutting out at 100a so it means theres not enough power going towards the sound system. The new alternator is gonna cost me $350 do you reckon its worth doin?

What battery are you running? Might be worth while spending a bit more money on a decent battery (optima, odyssey)

as they where saying to me the battery is only a reserve power, the alternator dose most of the work while the car is running

Yeah I'd look at getting a new alternator as your running a pretty big system there. As I see u live in Ballarat, so do I, can I ask where u went to get your gear installed??

in theory this would work you reckon? its just i don't want to spend $350 and its gonna go down the drain yet thats what 3 auto electricans have recomended, but still JET-6 says to take it back cause it has ****ty power leads/Circuit Breaker....

is the circuit breaker gonna trip once u exceed 100 amp, why would u need another battery its doing its job, the problem is your drawing so much current to your amps that your trippin your circuit breaker. you need to figure out how many amps each amp is pulling and get a ciruit breaker to suit. eaither that or like said before run 3 seperate cables and then u will need 3 circuit breaks but of less amperage to trip hope that helps

yeah thats what i said too, i still recken try the 3 seperate cables out first, but the big arse alternator will help (should stop your lights diming to the music too ) Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Go the alternator as said above it will help with all other electric's in your car . Running 3 different power cables will be expensive aswell as you will need 3 of everything like fuse holders etc. The price will add up quickly. I've just spent around 300 just on new wiring accessory's so the alternator isn't that expensive and I'm sure it will help. Also Lock Rock N Roll seem to be the best place to go in ballarat. That's where most of my system has been installed.

an alternator charges a battery what u need is a capacitor, they are worth about 250 for a decent one. you only need a new alternator if your battery continously goes flat cause your drawing to many amps at once, i know guys who can clock 140dB and they use bog stock electrics (like 2*1000RMS amps)
