the other day i degreased my engine and when i was washing it off i got water in the spark plug holes so the next day my car (obviously) sounded like **** then died in the arse.. (im an idiot i know) .. but now i dried it all up and everything one of the pistons isnt firing so the engine rocks and sounds like **** and has no power etc.. its not the sparkplugs, leads or injectors cos i tested em all and ran a injector cleaner through the fuel.. and its still doing it.. anyone else had the same prob? or any ideas what it could be? i love my car to absolute death and i hate to hear my bay sound sick ps. custom paint i call it gunsmoke gold :P Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

id use compressed air to dry everything off. you may have water laying in one of the sensor plugs

worth a shot, blow all the sensors/plugs out then use some contact cleaner in there.

Do you mean water in the sparky hole / E.G- water went into the piston chamber? Or the sparky was still in the plug? If so maybe just try replacing the spark plug first.. and WD40 all the sensors etc.

yeah have you tested the spark plug out of the car to see if it is sparking? you mighta also killed your CAS if spray got into the plug for that. might also have shorted an injector.

My mate who worked at holden for 10 years said washing a VL engine bay was punishable by death. VLs hate water. I am having similar troubles with mine after washing the outside of the car only, pop ups popping up etc. Anyway WD40 is not the best thing for your plugs etc. Use contact cleaner/ electra clean or something like that. Also using a flat blade or something, scrape down the connectors to get all the crap off them so its back to the copper. Check dizzy cap for track marks along the top of the car. Moisture in here is bad news too. Before going to a mechanic just spend a good little while cleaning and spraying all your plugs.

washed out my engine bay last weekend. Only with water but, it was just very very dusty in there. Went for a drive afterwards, and it was going like ****, then later that day it died in its arse. Took the dizzy cap off, and it was half full of water. That wasn't the problem but. It was the CAS. It had water in it also. I already had a new one so i put that in and all was good again. I cleaned all the water out of my old one, and put it in my glovebox. it may still work now that its got no water in it.

dude if your car was sweet before you washed your engine, then you must have water some where, pull off all conectors and blow them out with compressed air, also pull the dizzy apart as this is a common problem.

i checked everything and there isnt water anywhere! i replaced all the spark plugs (which i thought was ****ing hard considering the throttle body is the the way for the middle 2) just incase it was them and nothing changed! but i think the problem has gone so much ****ing worse now aye.. after taking the spark plugs out there was so much bloody metal powder filings **** in the threads and im wondering where its come from doesnt look good... maybe i should just get a pro to look at it :P ooh also unrelated topic... i washed my car today and took pics but i duno how to post em cos it comes up with that gay URL thing and i cant be ***ed join foto bucket or wateva it is to post em.. wat do i do Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
