Hi, I was just wondering what you would expect to pay to get your VL resprayed in the original color... My VL is in need of a fresh coat of paint, but i like the color its already in, I have got a few quotes, i just wanted to check with everyone here what they would call a "Normal" price for this job

i was quoted $4400. It needs a few dents removed/filled, but i always thought it was cheaper to get it sprayed in the same colour... And this isnt bare metal treatment.. just sand it back and go over it..i suppose the dents mean they have to do more work... Luckily tho i have no. NO. rust.. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

well im redoing my vlt. I have bare metald it myself and ive been quoted 6500-7000. Thats a flocoat job thought and thats not including materials. add another 2-2500 for materials. total respray cost (max) 9500 smackers. Thats getting a mirror finish that you could do your hair in front of!!!! I think that aint too bad actually... The bad thing is I only got 7000 for it so far!!!!!

all ive got to say is u pay for what u get Mine was a solid so i didnt have to by clear i used spice hekker came up preety bloody good...Materials play a part but ultimatley it comes down to ur prep work and the gunslinger The mate who did mine is currently doing my cousins vlct and to date i think they have spent neally 700 hours in prep work that includes bare metaling the whole car

im a painter and for quality paint and materials your looking at about 1g for that. then there is numerous hours in stripping off the car what needs to be stripped, round about 1.5 hours. then ther are your repiars, who knows how many hours, then its got to be sanded back, 2 hours or so, then its gotta be masked and primed, an hour, then unmarsked rubbed back then masked, painted put back together so there is a bit of hours work on the car. so 4400 aint to bad. like everyone has said you get what you pay for . it cost me 1500 to do my car but that is only for the materials i used.

ive seen bare metal resto's go upto the 30g mark, dead set. where im at a bare metal resprays gonna start at 8-10k and go up from there. also materiels factors in everything from paint to paper, to sanblasting, primers, tape, running the booth etc, not just paint. flow coats are a pain in the arse as well as blocking it back, masking, spraying, running the booth etc is done twice. the answer to all these how much threads is u get what u pay for.... the more the price the better the job. when someone asks me to paint there car first question, "how much u wanna spend"

Yeah the prep work takes the longest, but the longer you spend doing it feathering repairs etc etc, the better the finish you will get. So you have to sit back and ask how far do you want to go?

unless u know what ur doing the prep is best left to the pros. or the results can be disasterous. alot of painters dont like touching other peoples prep either. but if u have paint and the cars ready to go its only a days work to spray the thing, so its not gonna be 4g. another simple answer dont paint ur car, my car looks good but goes like ****. go before show in my books. spend the money on mods. ill get some pics up of mine just gotta down the coast to use my bro's cam. hehehe it cost me 500 to paint my car.
