Marmo, You'll end up with the most stupid looking N/A or converted VL. Sounds like you're related to our friend on here with the Lexcen Why not go to the beach instead or get out and meet some girlies

i'd actually like to fit in a HSV GTO interior (seats, same type of carpet, dashboard, everything) into a HQ Monaro.

i dont see why people are against changing to a more modern dash,, i mean everyone wants some nice HSV seats etc, why not the dash?? but then again i see the point about doing it with the "least" ammount of effort,, anything like this is going to be a HUGE job, it wasnt meant to fit in a VL, but if your goingto do it i think the VR-VS dash would suit it best

marmo, its ur car dude, i say do what u like. reckon if u can get it to work t would look neat. Otherwise do what VL_EXEC86 said and retrim it in vinyl or something. that would also look good

This site would be dull and pointless if everyone did the what is "ruled" acceptable. This site works a treat because everyone can speak their opinions without being belittled. You can express yourself through your car and ideas, and other ideas can be nutured and grow while learning what works, and doesn't work. 90% of the fun is building your ideas, and watching them come to life. My own thoughts and opinions have changed in certain cases, due to the input of people on this site. It's all fair and good putting up a post saying you don't like something. Personally I would be interested in seeing a VL with a modern dash, as my interior isn't stock anyway. Good luck with your project Marmo. That Pic looks kinda like a VT or VX - not too sure though. My appologies for my rambling. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
