Gudday, need some help Had my car on ignition for a few minutes and next thing i know theres no power... clock went off, ignition lights went off etc. First thing i did was check the fuses, all intact, then i checked the ignition switch, seemed to be switching fine and theres power there (at the red wire), but still no ignition or starter... Battery is fine, the lights work fine, hazard lights work fine, indicators dont work (probably because the ignition is not on) I tried bypassing the ignition switch, but still nothing Any idea what i should be looking for or what this may be?

With the ignition switch on, have you got power on any of the pink wires at the fuse box?

Then check power on the pink at the ignition switch. If there's nothing on it, and there is power going to the switch on the red wire, the ignition switch must be shagged.

Thanks for the lead on the pink wires Monsta. I checked the pink wiring at the switch this morning and for a second the ignition came back(? - may have jiggled a wire or something) , then as soon as i tried to start it (put a heavy load on) it died again. i realised then that the 12v (red) ignition line must be dropping under load Then i checked the ignition power wire (red one showed 12v) but as soon i switched it manually (wire link) to the pink wire the voltage dropped to 0, so now i think Ive got a bad connection somewhere on that red ignition wire. I just ran a 12v positive straight from another source to the pink wires and boom, what do you know, ignition is back Thanks for your help mate, the fact that it showed 12v at the power wire really threw me, thankfully the ignition came back for a second and I was able to see what actually happened and then it all clicked together Rather than digging around under the dash I'll just run a new ignition lead. Thanks again mate! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
