and have just fitted up a brand new set of VZ "SS" twin piston brake kit
i have found out some more information about the HSV SV3800 which i thought i would share
The VN HSV SV3800 was the first VN HSV model. Completion of the SV3800 model was completed prior to the introduction of the Series 2 VN Commodores, so all SV3800's are Series 1 (or Series "1.5") VN's.
The SV3800 had a max power rating of 132kW - i.e 7kW more than the standard VN max power rating of 125kW. Max torque was improved not because of a higher max torque number but because of a longer duration of the max torque and the max torque occuring from around 500rpm earlier in the rpm range.
Specific enhancements to the SV3800 are as follows:
* Tuned Length Extractors (supplied by HSV's exhaust supplier: HM Headers)
* Big-Bore (2.5") single-exhaust system
* Re-calibrated chip/memcal partially or fully effecting max-power, torque-curve, and revised acceleration gear shift-points
* VN V8 sedan petrol tank (85L) w/ stone-guard replaces VN V6 sedan item (63L)
* Modified VN S/SS FE2 suspension including modified springs, gas rear shocks, larger stabiliser/sway bar and revised positioning of some components.
* LSD (limited slip diff)
* HSV 16" mag/alloy wheels, body colour
* Performance Tyres
* Front Airdam Extension (same as found on VN SS and VN Formula)
* Rear Spoiler, revised from 1-Jul-89 with 1-column, eye-level-brake-light version
* Side Skirts (same as found on VN SS and VN Formula)
