Well, I guess it's about time I put one of these up. I recently purchased myself a manual 1986 VL SL. I wasn't really looking for a VL inparticular, but my cousin's mate had one for sale. I paid $500 for the car, then paid $550 for the registration, followed by $600 for my RWC. Admittedly, she's done a fair few Km's. It's heading up towards 400thou. BUT the only problem I have is that the centre bearing is on its way out, even though the same sound has been there for 5 years. Current mods to date are very limited, if non-existant. I re-painted my front hub caps, re-painted the real wheels, and I've installed a tacho, because I haven't actually tried to source a new dash yet. I've recently installed a budget sound system, which consists of a nice VDO h.u, some 6.5in rear speakers (in a new rear parcel shelf that I made in about 15 minutes), an Alpine 2 channel amp, bridged to run my 12in MTX sub. Future mods will probably consist of either a mean RB30et conversion, or a fat **** off v8. That will come in about 6 months time or so, but in the mean time, I'll just be sorting out some suspension set-ups, because I'm sure that ANYTHING will beat the stock 18y/o suspension that I have at the moment. Then I think I'll upgrade the brakes, but I'm still not sure which way to go with those. Then some nice smooth rims with some very expensive/grippy tyres. I've written too much, so here are a few shocking pics for you all to ignore! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

thanks guys. Im starting my apprenticeship in a few weeks, so ill see what some of the boys at work think. who knows what cheap parts i might run into :P after seeing muzteks vl, im definately sticking with the internationals. just gotta find some on the cheap has anyone had any experience with whiteline's VL package? i was thinking of just new shocks and springs, but i think i might go the whole shebang, especially if im going to throw in a new engine and keep her for a while.
