Just found out that Holdens have obsoleted both the emissions label on the left strut tower (the ones that get really daggy with age), and the jack instructions sticker on the bootlid (which shivel up in the heat).
I have new ones of both and I've found a guy who may be able to duplicate them and print them up. His shop is shut until January 10 so I won't be able to get a quote until then but, if they're around the $5 mark or so (absolutely no idea at the moment, might be much less), would anyone here be interested in some ?
I know the emissions labels could be popular, less so the bootlid one, but without holding anyone to them I'd just like to get an idea of numbers. Seems a waste just to get a couple made up for myself.

Yep, got it in one.
I don't think there are any legalities involved with them, just looking for that new and super clean look. For those that have modified things under the hood (ie pretty much everyone) then there's no real need for them, and yes, most people would have taken them off. For the odd one or two of us who like stockies (HDT and HSV collectors included) I thought this would be a good chance to do something while I still have the two new ones to copy from.
Yeah ill take 2 of Each! Few of my mates own HDT VL's and im sure they would pay a pretty penny and a blow job for one of these puppies But they must be exactly the same as the real thing..

Shall do guys. I'll get back to you when I get the quote.
The idea was to get them as original as possible. Funnily enough the engine bay one shouldn't be a problem as it's a plasticised type thing with a clear layer over it. The boot one looks like something I could have done up on the laser printer at home, and lasted about as long. Mine was shagged after only five years. I'll try for the original look on this one and hopefully the papers/glues are a little better these days.
Managed to finally get some quotes done on these.
The boot jack placard is currently being done by RareSpares as Part #90012 at $13.09 so I didn't bother going any further with those. Artwork would have been expensive to set up and I had my doubts the printer I'm using would have been able to replicate the really crap paper the originals are printed on anyway.
V8 emissions labels are also available from RSP at $11.20 (Part #90011)
The 6 cylinder emissions labels I'll have done up will be printed on polypropylene, like the originals and I should have them in a week or two. Price will be $4.00 each, GST included.
I'll get back to everyone with payment options when I have them in hand.

Had plenty of rust around the windscreen that was fixed last year, but I had four windscreens replaced since it was repainted 13 years ago and I put it down to that. Just noticed a bubble coming through under the rear screen the other day which sucks now that it's pretty well in the shape I want it in.
It's hung in there well. Only been a daily driver for ten of the seventeen years I've had it so it's led a very sheltered life for one with 280,000+ km's on it.
It even had rust repaired around the winscreen when it was five years old !! Bloody corrosion magnets these things, no matter how you look after them.

Found out from RareSpares today that #90012 is a HDT part number. They may be cheaper from them direct.

Sorry to hear about the rust, **** its a pain in the ass! my n/a has rust comming through! so as soon as my calais is done to the way i like it, im pissing that one off!
Its weird I was looking at my cal last night and its got a VT window seals or sumthing in the front! not standard! The car has had a fresh respray but yeah with no rust n diff windows! So I was stoked til i riped the boot carpet and there is a bit of rust FU CK!
Finally managed to get these done after a couple of stuff ups with the proof copies.
To suit all 6 cylinder VL's (n/a and turbo), they're $4.50 each (includes post) if anyone is still chasing some. PM me with your details and I'll get back to you with payment info. Money orders, money transfers are fine, or I can even process credit card transactions through my business if thats easier for you.
Pretty happy with the way they turned out. The ink is blacker than a spare original I bought years ago, but it's the same as the one I removed from my white car. Being a newer generation label I've been told they didn't need the mylar clear sheet over the top (the bit that always turns to crap) like the originals have. I've had a sample on the wagon for a couple of months now and no problems with yellowing or burning.
For best results when applying (so you don't get bubbles etc due to the shape of the strut tower) I'd warm them up a little first under a lamp or in front of a heater and then remove the backing paper. Holding it at the top corners, pull it outwards so you're almost stretching it then line it up on the tower and stick.
Pic below shows the original one at the top and the repro below.
