i was looking through my december issue of sm when i found a full page ad on cryogenic cooling, so here's how it works.
-there is a tank full of CO2
-you can connect any combination of air, intercooler or fuel coolers to the tank, up to 4 total.
the intercooler one is a rectangle tube that sprays CO2 onto the intercooler, it's non-flammable
the intake one is a short piece of pipe with a 'cryogenic bulb' in it which stays cold and can cool the air going past it by more than 35% (so they say). it also says you can put more than one after another to make the air cool more.
the fuel bar connects up to 4 ports which cools the fuel as it goes through the bar, so i guess you'de connect 2 fuel lines through it.
for people who dont know anything about the gains from cooling, when the fuel and air is cooled it shrinks, that means you can fit more air and fuel into the cylinders at the same time which means it goes like a larger engine in a way.
so the q is, has anyone heard of this b4? does anyone know of it being used b4?
the ad also says its cheap and easy 2 install so if its all true it would be very popular

heya mate yeh i have seen this done and it is very effective!! i saw it on a twin turbo wrx it had the tank in the boot an was installed before the stage 2 intercooler. the driver had told me it was cheap to get installed and cheap to run it with a 30% increase in power. dont know where to get it done at though.....
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
Same as dry ice coolers, which you top up at the track and provide subzero inlet temps..
All the benefits of running methanol, minus the probs accociated with it going off, and freezing everything up.
luv 2 hav one of those set up, you wouldnt really need an intercooler at all, so that would reduce lag a little
its on my list of things 2 buy wen its popular here
