Lets say IF i was going to race a car in my VL in a controlled environment, what could I beat? Stock VL Royale. I never participate in anything illegal...ever. Cheers. -MX

weeelll, under "controlled traffic environments" (4am) i raced a 4L Ford ute with 4 people in my VL, which is pretty stock...I won of course. Yet it was very close.

hmmmm but guys just remember the new zealand model vl's came out with the 2 litre motor which is just like a RB20E if im wrong correct me guys, so i dont think it would pull as hard as a stocko australian RB30E Jeff

If its a 2.0litre you can race your granny to the corner shop on her moped.. If its a 3.0 litre you can race your grandad on his turbo moped with altezza and motec full 4" exhaust. Seriously. Racing in an n/a vl is fairly pointless, they aren't slow as such, but they're not quick enough to bother. They're good for a stab every now and then, they're good for pissing off Mirages and other slow ass pieces.. But everything else, not much point bothering unless you wanna look like a fool.. I think everybody exaggerates their stories when they come on here, in all honesty a newer commodore although heavier, would give you a good run, any alot of these import 4's may still wipe the floor with you.

NAs are good for dragging Bazza's overladen 202 HQ work ute onto the freeway onramp, but that's about all.

LOL I have lost count of the times stocko VN 5ltrs and 6's have wanted to give me a run in the calais, hahaha even off boost I'd give most of them a good run LOL. I've been in plenty of N/A VL's, and I think some of you guys are a tad biased, could have something to do with the site, I'm not sure LOL, BUT N/A VL's aren't fast compared to most cars, a mate has a 4ltr Ford XH ute, and it goes pretty good, manual of course.. would flog a VL. Anyone want to take on my bug, in their n/a VL??? hahahaa

You guys can race my falcon if you want, it could be a bit one sided though. But talking stock cars a NA VL in good condition should beat an automatic EA-ED falcon up to about 70km/hr. The autos in the falcons suck and take ages to get some revs and power on board. If the falcon is manual then no stock NA Vl would stand a chance. Its all in the gearing. That is talking falcons from 88 to about 94. My manual XF was killed by a few VL's when it was stock, it did have 300,000kms on it though. The cam was so worn it nearly had no lobes left on it. So I cant comment on stock falcons earlier than the EA's. I cant see the point of racing a stock commodore and falcon now, but when I was 18 it was important. Now i prefer to race gen 3's.

mate thats bull****, ive got a VL N/A 5spd and ive beaten alot of things that i should have!!! let me put it this way if u have a automatic VL u have got no chance on most cars since they are ****!! but if ya got a manual VL well its a totally different ball game!!! my mate has a stock as a rock VL turbo 5 spd and ive kept up with him, he beat me me ofcourse but i still kept up to him, i raced a VN SS 5L yeh he smashed me but i still went hard against him and he even said f*** man u went pretty hard against me!! like u can pretty much if not beating them, give em a good go in a VL n/a 5spd!!!!!

And what do you base that on. Not all cars are in the same condition. The EFI XF went pretty hard for what they were.

your mate in his turbo must of just been a nice guy and not tell you he wasn't looking and changing cds at the time... oh, wait on!! nah i take that back, you'd be talking about traffic light races.. so in that case then yes you probably did win for the distance of the race.. as the vlt was probably stuck behind with wheelspin.
