hi all so a pod filter in NSW is Illegal if its not in a box? how neat does the box have to be? any pics of peoples dodgy attempts? i will get a pic up soon, but i just bought some aluminum from bunnings, bent it all arround the pod side of engine bay and looks really nasty, but felt very effective while driving... but yeah, are pods illegal if they are out int he open? thanks

as told my "mr plod" they must be fully enclosed in an airtight box. but if he cant see it your 100% better off than if he can

air tight... doesnt they defeat the whole purpose? i just cut and used aluminium on my second attempt of cutting and patching up the standard airbox... looks nice, pop rivet pattern, snug in the front of the engine bay.... its hard to make an airbox with a rb20det in it... the pipes not that bendy

not exactly airtight, it just cant breathe air from the engine bay. That means if u got room make one bent piece to block off behind it and on the side, you dont need to cover the top as long as u reckon the bonnet would seal it off, a strip of rubber is good at the top to seal it

well i dont know about nsw but down here in vic u r alowed pods but they must be secured with a bracket of some sort so they dont flop around or a heat deflector which will help secure it and to keep the hot air out of them
