i had this same problem, never cuased any issues, just an annoying noie. mine did id when the fual got under a quarter of a tank, starts making that gurgling noise, and i was told it was something to do with the internal fuel pump. but as i said, it never affected how it drove...

I think it's the fuel being returned to the tank.

Mine did this too. Make sure your internal pump is working. I changed mine over and it stoped the bubbling noise. If it was the fuel being returned then it would have to be airated somehow.

I'm, not sure where the return is positioned on the tank, but if it's high and the level in the tank is below it, it could be the fuel splashing? If the internal pump wasn't working, it would be a bitch to start, as the internal pump is a primer for the EFI pump.

it is the pump trying to pump fuel as the pump is not submerged, it will only do it at quarter of a tank. Keep it above a quarter cos it makes pump very hot as it is working harder toi get fuel, therefore limits the pumps life, well this is what a mechanic told me

priming the fuel pump. it's not a problem mate, so need to worry about it.

i agree with fantom, fuel pump wasnt make to be put under that amount of stress, a lot of professionals say this about the vl. keep the tank over 1/4 at all times, too much driving under 1/4 will destroy the fuel pump, also if your fuel filter is blocked it'll make the same sound, so maybe change it too if its old

Its just the pre-loading at teh start. Happened in all the VL's Ive been in with stock fuel suppliers. Unless it really pisses you off dont bother about it, wait till the ****er blows up(which might not be ever) and replace it with a better one.

i had the same problem but only forund it to happen under the quater . i got qurious 1 day and puled it out to find that the filter on the end of the pump was blocked and needed replacing it was also tawn when i replaced it it went away or if u r a back yard butcher take the filter off lol not recomended though

filters r cheap, so u gotta b really careless 2 not use 1, im guessing with ULP it would wreck the fuel pump and clog up the fuel lines and injectors very quickly without a fuel filter
