simple question for once just wondering if its safe to put the battery in the boot when u have an lpg tank in there too? any guidelines you're meant to follow as far as wiring e.t.c goes?? i mean, what if the tank ever developed a leak?

Have you ever seen how thick these tanks are?? there is WAY less chance of these leaking than a regular fuel cell/tank.
if the fittings leak, they should be vented to atmosphere, creating less of a hazard..
if you mount the battery in the correct way ( in a box and etc ) there is pretty much no chance of this happening due to the battery in the boot.
thats like worrying that your taillight wiring will cause an explosion.
Geoff, As long as the tank is fitted properly, you'll have not worries.
Just dont skimp on the fitting of the battery and get an externaly vented one.
all in all, too easy.

When i worked for an automotive engineer in sydney, we always required a sealed
battery when there was a fuel cell or gas tank in the boot.
The reason for that is batteries make hydrogen, and hyd is highly explosive. In the event of a spark, you have a explosion. As madnez said, vent it externally. I think if you look for your battery box at a marine/boat seller, you may get a better quality unit.

Autronic , its actually law to have this stiff vented, so its not only the smart thing to do..
Geoff, i'l lshow you the setup in the VL shortly, its almost done.

lol so u ARE nearly finished danny! i was gonna ask u if i could buy my old tank back if u werent gonna use
yeah let me see it when u can.. and thanks for the info, made lots of sense. You make a good point about the tanks, ppl worry about gas tanks exploding, they dont understand how scarey weak the PETROL tanks are... u could actually punch and dint a petrol tank whereas a gas tank will break your wrist like it was a wishbone
