my auto has had a lot of probs, slips like hell wen fed a little power and shudfders in 4th, so i took it to 2 auto guyz, one said 1000-1500 rebuild, the other said between 1500-1800, the 1st guy was a ****head, very rough with my car and sed after a 5min drive, its fcuked! you'll need a rebuild for sure. the second guy said it needs rebuild for sure but sed a lot of others take shortcuts, use cheap parts, dont put some parts in. so i let the 2nd guy do it, it should be done by tomorrow, he said he'll put in much better parts, eg. metal washers instead of plastic ones, and a whole bunch of other little things and sum big things, lol. the final price is 1850 cos he's totally rebuilding the converter aswell and everything in the auto (jatco 4spd) cause he said all the clutches and beands we're totally burnt out same as converter. so im just wondering, how much did you pay, did it work fine after? and how much power has it put up with since rebuild?

btw the auto did 200,000km, and was driven gently the whole time, is it weird that its so wrecked after being treated so well?

wel i got my car back yesturday, only noticed after i left that it vibrates when i accelerate and it doesnt start in park, only in neutral. so its going back in on monday, but i'de say he put the tailshaft in wrong and set the neutral safety switch wrong, shouldnt take that long to fix anyway how much work were u gonna get done for 1600? i also got a new converter aswell as tranny rebuild, the old one had burn marks on the metal, all bands were burnt to the shiits

you got it back and it was doing that. I would be seirously worried. my old box did that too because the bodge mechanic I had at the time didnt allign it all up properly and then one day after about 1 month, BOOM, she was dead. and is this a n/a box ? ??

i paid 1550 for a rebuild on my standard auto gearbox is was reconditioned with turbo parts and specs and a 2500 stally put in my cars worked which is why the gearbox **** itself now with the new box it hauls arse and was all done properly except one seal didnt take properly so it had to go back in for half a day a couple of weeks after i got it done. but she is good now
