I am considering purchasing a T04R from GCG , and have a few questions. They sell a t3/t4 adaptor , does this mean a to4r will fit onto a standard rb30det manifold (using the adaptor). I understand a provision will have to be made for an external gate. (any ideas). Is there any clearance issues (bodywork, eng mounts). And what would be the best way to intergrate a wastegate? It would be good if the spacer plate had a hole for the wastegate built in.. Any pics of wastegate spacers , or standard manifold/externally gated cars? Cheers

my old set up was a to4 but it had a to3 flange.ive seen more to4's with to3 flanges than with to4 flanges.im not sure if you can get a rear housing for the to4r with a to3 flange.i cant see why not though. are you aware that cgc is the dearest place you could ever hope to buy a turbo from? do some research man,i reckon you could find some much nicer prices elsewhere i think the to4r has a .7 front cover.if so you will need to get a 20mm spacer made and it should just fit this pic may help you out

The price was $1650 new and i am not sure if it came with a t3 flange option.. he said a customer was making 705 rwhp with to4r at 35 psi in WA.. Before i was looking at getting a gt35/40 but was told that they do not make enough power. Im aiming for between 450-650 rwhp what turbo would suit best.. and at approx what cost? also cheers for the pic..

bah gasp bleh cough! who told you that crock! that price is cheap for a to4r.if i were gonna use a to4 id use a to4z. but i wouldnt,id use a gt3540.it comes with a to3 flange and will make enough power for a low 10 second pass

His name is Brett at GCG turbochargers.. Ring him and ask about this car.. sounds like he is full of sh*t or some wires are crossed or something. I like the price of this turbo , coupled with a 2nd hand wastegate i could get out of it fairly cheap , like $2000.. What are the limits of a T04R ? would it push 450-650rwhp ? Also what are the specs and costs of a GT35/40 that will push this type of power?

a T04R is usually rated at rear wheel HP not flywheel Brett Lloyd is the owner (??) of GCG so he knows wot he is talking bout but 705rwhp from a T04R is a bit high but high 500 low 600 is acheivable that is a pretty damn good price for a T04R if it is brand new

my turbo was from GCG (bought it from TroyVK) and was a T60-1/T04E(OR T04R) and it fits perfectly underneath the standard manifold, so you shouldn't have any problems with that.
