hey guys ive jsut got my p's and have saved aoubt 10 grand im thinkin about getting a **** vl for say 3 grand and doing it up witgh the other seven. what type of vl should i get and what mods should i get for the other mojority of the money and help is much appreciated thanks
U could do a fair with that cash... get a decent vl for 1-2g, 3 if u want a calais.. and for 7g depends what u want from it.. u want performance or a show car? U could get an awesome paintjob for 7g and the car would be eye candy but then u gotta think where its gonna be stored e.t.c it'll become too nice to drive to work and back e.t.c
Or u can go the performance route and get a mild rb30 made up, get internals balanced and shotpeen the rods and machine crank e.t.c then get a nice t66 or something and nice cooler and u should be entering 250rwkw land, should be possible for 7g.
I'd sell you mine, but you probably wouldn't want it. 5 speed Exec, non turbo with cam and chip, tuned length extractors (average condition, couple of pinholes from dragging on speedhumps etc), maroon (resprayed, but it does have some rust in the windscreen, plus the roof has a bit of that orange peel effect which my panelbeater said he could cut and buff to a nice finish no worries) calais interior, minus rear headrests, power windows, mirrors, central locking with alarm and 3 point immobiliser, lowered with VS SS wheels. Just fitted one of Mike_M's fuse rails too.
What's wrong? Gear changes are a bit rough, looks like clutch master is shagged or blocked, find out next week, reverse switch needs replacing, radiator has a small leak, no aircon and it needs the left steering rack boot replaced, hopefully I'll get to that next week. These problems have just surfaced and to make it worth me selling without losing too much I'd want $4500, it's got August 05 rego. For it's age it's in pretty good nick overall, good for a project. Kinda wish I hadn't bought it as I don't have the money to put into it, not that it needs a great deal if you just want it as a daily. I like it and will eventually get it's standard up, just too poor now. Goes well as is, will be better once the gearbox lets me change gears better.

yeh wot loud vl said, if u cna do up a vl for 250kW for 10g then you can buy one for much less, like 7g, then spend another 3 on the looks.
or u could get an old 79 corolla or sumtin and fix up an rb30 to drop in it, that would go like all hell, they weigh like 900kg
