my 044 pump screams it's ass off. especially when the tank gets down below half. i have replaced the intank pump about 6 months ago (before I replaced the external) with a standard item as it was stuffed. are the standard intank pumps good enough to feed the 044 or should I replace it with a larger item? or should I buy myself a surge tank?

A surge tank will relieve the problem. If you run it dry too long it will prob stuff the pump. I would imagine the stock lift pump couldn't keep up properly. You can get upgraded lift pumps around $100 from petroject.

Std in tank pump is to small to feed an 044 you need a surge tank or petroject do a big in tank replacment that's what i run and it's perfect.

just spoke to petroject and he recommended a 10012 pump from vn series 2 to vs which flows around 4l/min. do you think this should do the job?

i noticed the same problem with mine, it seems to gets better when you put a new intank pump in, but only for a little while then it goes berko again. I guess its time to hook up the surge tank...
