If i may direct your attention to this (http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=31543) thread, would anyone be interested in going halves/thirds/whatevers in this vehicle? it has a complete 5 speed conversion in it, running engine (which is what i want) with all ancillaries, so you could easily pull the 5 speed conversion out of it and make $500+ back on it.
i'll happily throw in good cash for the engine and help to get it out etc, but i have nowhere to store the car.
applicants with a large backyard may apply!
there is most certainly an opportunity to make a dollar, i'd throw in 150-200 for the engine alone, and you could sell the 5 speed conversion (if it was all good, waiting on confirmation from seller) for probably $600, so you're in the clear already. interior parts, brakes, panels, seats, hell it could all be sold off slowly and you'd make a fair bit more. give it a day or so for the dude to reply and i'll go have a look at the car and let yas know what it's like, i think he lives near me somewhere.
i've basically sold a whole car over the last 4 months. it's alot of work, but i doubled my money - so about $1500 profit, and i got all the parts i needed.
would have been easier in a larger place like brisbane, but it can be done!
stocky : that's right - i wouldn't DO IT with you ! hehehe
okay well basically what i need is a series 2 block which is RUNNING or WAS RUNNING when last you saw it. i don't even need a head but will take it if it's bolted to the top of the motor in its usual place. just realised this dude's engine is probably a series 1 which sucks, but i'll probably still buy it anyway because there's good stuff like alternators, oil and water pumps, power steering pump etc on it. if any of you assclowns have a series 2 block for CHEAP throw me a pm or something, i'll come pick it up. need to start building the project engine soon.
luke - i have the cash for that 044, i'll take it next time i see ya. that will probably be when i'm climbing off your mum later tonight and you accidentally walk in on us.
Hey Neil, the crank in mine spun a bearing so I haven't been game enough to look inside yet. You can have the bottom end for a slab. Fair enough? Tough sh1t if it aint. lol
And yes it is a series 2.
