is there such a thing there are different VLT gearbox which were built as i am getting my MX7 rebuilt at the momment and apparently the bloke ordered the standard bearings for a VLT manual gearbox and they where the wrong size apparently holden said there was a few MX7 built with bigger bearings inside of them and they closly match to the walkinshaw bearings and the standard ones are smaller
anyone got any ideas about this or am i getting ripped hehe
There is a place in Perth that "upgrade" all the bearings in MX7's, maybe your box has been there once.
I'd be guessing but i would doubt GMH/Nissan would have made more than 1 layout for the box!
thats what i though unless the dumb **** ordered non turbo stuff for turbo gearbox thats why i questioned it anyone else have any thoughts on this? i got the box from someone in melbourne
The last time I had an MX7 gearbox rebuilt, the shop doing it had to quote the box's serial no to get the right bearings. That might be the surest way to get the right ones.
there are different size bearings in different size manual gearboxs which i saw from the plans holoden gave for the layout of the gearboxs gears and bearings
