Anyone know what the power supply limit of a lpg system would be? just your typical APA tank and gas reserahc throttle bodies... mainly the supply side, like can the tank push enough through the lines to support over 600rwhp?? I know ezy10 is making about 540 @ wheels, and im sure few other examples out there are in the 500s... havent seen anything make more than that tho

if your doing this in a vl turbo - fantastic! the thought has also crossed my mind however. you will need a aftermarket ignition controller to get this working properly for some power - like a Haltec IG5 - but honestly - good luck finding one - they dont make them anymore - not to mention whoever has them and knows their value will never sell them, and if they do it wont be cheap either. speak to morgz, apparently theres a guy up in dalesford who is a gas research fellow has done some testing with another ignition system and is making some nice clean power

Also speak to a pro car gass fitter. I have found that there are better systerms then gass research out there. And there alot cheaper and look awsome.

Ex Factory, the APA tanks are reported to flow enough gas forabout 350rwhp i believe. the B2 Convertors are on their limit N/A at 300rwhp. The Tanks need certian mods, of which Jason ( the guy who built EZY10 and GAS747 ) wouldnt induldge me the info, understandably. But once suitably opened up, im not sure he knew the limits. i dont know about Gas-747 but EZY10 is running 2 convertors to supply it enough fuel, and last time i looked it had an elctronic dizzy locked out. tho thins may have changed by now, to a programable ecu. the guy in dalesford was modifying an XF electronig igniton to fit vl's ( amongst other things ). some Carby XF.s had an ingnition only ecu and aparantly the ignition curve and etc is fairly favourable even in unmodified form. but think of how cheap replacement parts are for XF's... you can buy a whole running car for a few hundred, sort of makes the cas issue look pointless now..

Yeah Ive seen mogan's (Morgo) LPG VLT its pushing out 200rwkw on like 10psi, as far as I know with his setup he has 2 massive converters a moddified gas throttle body etc.. but at the way the price of fuel is goin it wont be long and ppl will be goin gas on their VLT etc plus the octane rating of LPG or Propane is way higher than BP Ultimate or AVGAS and over half the price, from memory Morgans gas setup alone was like 9 grand i think??

as for the suppy side, you'd want twin b2 converters at least a 440cfm gas carb, twin gas lines and lockoffs etc, you may have to modify the supply lock off valve in the tank and it should all be ok.

remenber guys that with gas you loes on mileage. full tank of optimax wil lget say 450-500 km full tank of gas (not the giggly stuff) will go for round 350-400 this is right from the mouth of a mob here in sydney that do conversions, i was looking into it but when he said pretty much a few bad facts bout it then i just walked. he was an honest bloke to told me pros and cons but in my eyes the cons out wieghed the pros.

So, you have to fill up every 6 days instead of 7 ??? Thats a good reason! But when you do fill up it's $25 instead of $60 Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

This discussion of can you make power and efficiency with lpg comes up quite frequently. Vl muzza's car is proof of this and we are all fortunate he is generous enough to answer our questions and share with us his combinations. Everyone forgets his car is for everyday use. It doesn't have huge cam or monstrous turbo. Howerver a guy buy the name of Dimitrios who owns a yellow interceptor. Straight gas roller bearing hks t51r, huge cam, motec cdi and I was told by the company who built it that they cant get enough lpg to the engine and they are thinking of putting 3 b2 converters on it. Or putting injectors with computer back in to supply methanol under boost. As soon as they decide the car will be ready to run. Either this guy or Morgo is going to show us the true potential of lpg and with this a lot of people will stop thinking lpg is for taxis.

ill be tuning my car soon. It has the standard n/a vl cas and computer. Have a 440 cfm carb, century converter and a b2 converter. Put it on the dyno the other night and on boost (light load/ 6ish psi) it was still too lean (1.05 lambda) so we didnt bother any further. Its got a 47 pill in it, which i was told was a very very rich pill (i think the gas place that put it in was thinking it only needs about as much gas as a 308 or something). Im gonna ring em up tomorrow and get 6 pills with smaller diameter to richen it up, wack them in one by one and see which one is what i need Car has a custom t3/4, front mount and fresh turbo motor with 3" zorst. Want to run about 15psi and hopefully get 200rwkw. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
