Im really startin to get p1ssed off! Can sum 1 give me the name of a turbo performance shop in WA (if possible) which has a ratio of more quallity built engines which LAST versus workshop disasters? As i prepare to throw sum serious $$$ worth of parts into my Rb30et. Im currently lookin at speedworks in ossie park but even then i am gettin funny reports about them from well know auto specialists. I dont wana hav 2 truck me eng to the eastern states to get it done right (last resort) Hav jus been told i should go to SST...???
Guys if you hav had a "very" good experience with a perticular workshop or you know of peoples who hav had there car built sumwhere, made big power and had no troubles since i wana hear about it.
Cheers

the only thing i could recomend is go to the workshops that you know of, if they have bad reports then straight out ask them why did this happen and the one you feel most comfortable about andwith the most honest answer then go with them.
because really they cant all be bad i mean if they were all so bad as what people make them out to be would they really still be in the high performance business. they obviously have a fair amount of knowledge when it comes to building a donk just look at the cars that they have built that havent had disasters to the ratio of disasters.
then you will need to look at the particular type of workshops that have experience building the RB30et. its not like the WA mechanics have some sort of problem that everymotor they touch is going to fail.
happens in everystate you just have to really go in there and talk to them tell them exactly what you want and ask them what if questions.
im no mechanic but really some of the stories ive heard of are just childish workshop wars when you really think about.
good luck in your quest dan.

yeah dont believe anything you hear... I know of a few people who have had motors die, due to something they didn't wanna spend money on, and the engine builder advised / reccomended them on. Then when it goes bang, the person goes bagging the builder, coz they know it was their fault.
You basically have to pick someone you feel comfortable with. There is always a chance that things go wrong, and there is no gaurantee's with a performance motor....

I went to speedworx once to get them to check out my car and they had no idea what anything was and said everything was fine. Having said that: apparently I got the workshop dunce to look at it and not the guy who knows what hes talking about. AJ is the guy at speedworx to see, not Ivan.
Poor little Ivan.
Im getting my car looked at on Friday by Tim Slako West Racing in ozzie park, ill let u know how it goes. He had some nice big power cars in his workshop when I went to see him, 1300hp twin turbo 5L, a couple of vl turbos etc.
U said u were prepared to spend big $$$$ u dork!

speedworks are incompetant. Wanna hear a story?
An unnamed aquaintence of a mate of mine got his motor built at speedworks, BIG dollar build. Forged everything. Ran a heap of boost through it, and blew it sky high. Pulled down the donk and shock horror, STOCK pistons....
Find somewhere you like, get a WRITTEN quote, SIGN it get THEM to sign it, get a confirmed e.t.a on when it will be finished and go for your life. THEN lay down your cash.

Wasnt there when they tuned it so who knows what psi they crankd through it! Tim is a nice guy havin said that and i also know dave who works there and does most of the tuning and ecu installs there and he's a top bloke also.
