This is a BRAND NEW EX GMH 5.7 HSV 220kw crate engine.
It is a replacement engine for a VT HSV model, It has the Hydraulic Roller Cam. These engines are assembled & the test run by Holden & then put into boxes to be sold as a Genuine replacement part.
Ok for all you clever guys that think that this engine is in fact a VS 5.7 engine, you are correct, the one in the box is the VT 5.7 engine, I wasn't going to do all that work to move it just for a picture when I already had one.
NEW HOLDEN V8 5.7 HSV 220KW STROKER can anyone tell me if there worth this $8000
its on ebay can anyone tell me if there worth the money......
sounds like it's a bit too much. You can pickup ls1's for cheaper then that and we all know how much hp these things are capable of with very minimal work.
engineering becomes a real issue if your looking at putting an LS1 in a commodore in comparison to this engine because this is a 304 block/stroke.. am i correct?
no way 6g for a brand new vt stroker in a crate...
8g is about the going price, maybe 7900 if u shop around.
Its a great idea for a project, i mean u are getting a 100% brand new motor that is going to last your lifetime basically... they are 220kw stock and have more torque than an ls1, dont worry these things absolutely fly they will easily keep up with a gen3 if not blow it away. They also of course repond to mods too like exhaust, heads cam of course e.t.c not as easy power as an ls1 but they are great still.
And lets face it after u buy the LS1 and box and conversion parts you'll up for another 6g or so..
the engine is stroked and if u consider how much it costs 2 stroke an engine you'll probably find that its worth the money, i've had a ride in a 308 stroked to 327 and that thing had guts with mild head work ofcourse (it was in a vl)
but i'de get an ls1 instead, much better buy
