I got a difff this weekend, and the number on the tag doesn't correspond to any in that thread about diff tag numbers. The number is 92028730 and it has 3.08 gears, what im tyring to find out is whether it was stock lsd, and whether it has the 28 spline axles. cheers for any help. Aaron

i have the holden manual at home, if no one else comes on here with an answer i'll look it up. there are quite a few numbers listed in there, it appears they changed a few times througout the time vl's were made.

all vl v8's were 28 spline

and 3.08:1 ratio, only the v8's have this ratio. as for lsd it was an option, just turn the axle and you'll know then and there

i am unable to identify it, i rang holden and they couldn't identify it either, but its a holden part number, annoying the bejebus outta me. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

l would just pull the rear plate off and have a look if you no what a 4 pin carrier lsd looks like ya larfin

yeah the 5ltr VL diff I got was just a single spinner, I dont think you will find many LSD versions

on the backing plate must have high performance LSD [its on a tag]

opened the backing plate and had a look inside, seems in good nick no chips or shards, looks like its 4 pinion so its all good, cheers for the help guys
